Black Widow – Female diver runs out of air! – [Hall of Fame – UPGRADE]

(….not the movie with Scarlett Johansson 😉 )

Time to make another UPGRADE post with one of the best scuba peril scenes!

The old one had an SD video with about 4 minutes and basically no text.

Now I wanna present you with an HD video with over 7 minutes and a proper text alongside it!

If you don’t know these scenes already…I do envy you!

Let’s start with some preview pictures:

And here is the video:

(wasn’t welcome on Youtube in the past)

Damn, I love that scene! So thrilling, so sexy!

Actress Theresa Russell, here “Catharine, the villainess”, looks gorgeous. Those legs in that high-cut wetsuit top…. oh boy….

Even though, the damn BCD vests are annoying and are obscuring the view.

Debra Winger, here “Alexandra” does a great job here as well.

I love the moment where she realizes that she doesn’t get any air anymore (or very little) and desperately sucks on her regulator.

She checks her air supply, and the pressure gauge shows that she should have air left.

She should now check immediately for her buddy and then make an emergency ascend when she doesn’t see her.

She just grabs onto her mouthpiece and slowly ascends, but ok, she has no scuba experience… no wonder she behaves like that.

The struggle between the two is cut sometimes a little odd, but it’s very intense and very sexy for me.

I’m still not 100% sure if Alexandra pulls out her own regulator or if Catharine is yanking it out of Alexandra’s mouth.

Pretty sure it’s the latter, as we can see Catharine’s hand reaching for it, before the cut.

The moment as Alexandra is without her regulator and both are staring at each other…..is awesome! Her villainous eyes starring at her victim….

Catharine hesitates for a long moment before she finally gives her her regulator….. very interesting 😉

Some backstory for those who don’t know the movie (you should watch it):

Minor spoilers ahead!

Catharine has the habit of marrying rich guys who then mysteriously die under weird circumstances 😉

Alexandra works for the FBI and investigates.

The two become friends more or less.

Catharine finds out that Alexandra is working for the FBI…. before this scuba scene.

So, she manipulates Alexandra’s scuba gear (not shown) so she would run out of air before her pressure gauge would show that.

So, we can speculate a little on Catharine’s moves after Alexandra runs out of air.

I would say she tries to stop her from ascending as she wants to drown her to get rid of her.

Catharine then fights so that Alexandra can’t ascend. It’s hard to say how far they are down….perhaps Alexandra wouldn’t have a chance, hard to say.

In the magic moment as Alexandra is without her regulator I think Catharine is thinking about what to do.

I mean she is the one who still has air and Alexandra is about to drown quickly.

In my opinion, Alexandra has then a change of heart and gives Alexandra her life-giving regulator.

A decision that she might regret later on… 😉

After that Alexandra suspects that her scuba gear was manipulated….

One of my absolute favorites!

Great job by the sound department here as well. Love the sounds during the struggle 🙂

In my version, the finale of the movie would have been a scuba fight between the two…. a scuba fight to the death!

Here is a nice poster:

Here is the IMDB page of the movie:

P.S.:

I don’t know how it was handled in the 80s, but nowadays two newly certified divers shouldn’t/wouldn’t go on a dive alone.

They would need an experienced diver on their side.

And they also should have been at the surface again with that kind of oxygen reserve…but ok…

A short anecdote about the first time I saw this movie:

I was on holiday on some Mediterranean island in the mid-’90s as a teenager and it was late and the TV in the hotel room was on.

You could see several German TV stations there.

And there I saw a trailer from a TV station for this movie several days before the airing.

And the scuba scene was shown there as well, ok, only bits of it….but these bits got me excited big time!

I couldn’t wait to see that movie…. back then, TV airings, cinemas, and VHS tapes were the only chance to see such scenes.

What do you think of that scene?

Farrah Fawcett fights for her life….in scuba gear! [UPGRADE]

Another UPGRADE post for you folks!

As I was checking the old post I also checked if there was a source with better video quality available….and yes, it was!

This one is from a widescreen HD TV airing, and it’s quite an improvement over the old one, even the recording itself wasn’t done in HD (why???).

And this time I include every second of her wearing that wetsuit/shorty.

Also, I wanna have a proper text included with this classic scene.

This is the old post:

And here is the video:

Quite a scene!

She was caught by surprise, her mask not in place yet, she gets pulled underwater.

Good timing by the sneaky attacker. She does manage to get the regulator on her mouth (it wasn’t as she still was on the boat).

But he is at a big advantage now as she doesn’t have a scuba mask anymore.

He goes for her regulator and steals it from her! As often in such scenes, she doesn’t try to get it back, which I always find a little odd.

The scene is cut quite weird with showing the grabbing hands of the attacker several times for example.

I read that the scene here where she is about to drown wasn’t acted as Farah Fawcett really inhaled water and was about to drown!

Of course, that wasn’t planned to happen, but as you can see, they decided to leave that scene in the movie.

It’s bad that it happened to her, that must have been quite a horrible experience!

But somehow I can understand why the scene was left in the movie…I mean no one would have gained anything if it wasn’t left in the movie.

This way it was a very realistic scene in this scuba attack….even it was way too realistic for Farrah Fawcett.

What happens with the attacker? Suddenly his scuba mask is gone and quickly he completely vanishes from the scene….

Another error in this scene:

She runs with her scuba tank to catch up to the others. Here a double hose regulator is attached to her tank.

Underwater she suddenly is using a single hose regulator….. #magic

All in all a good scene, even it could have been improved by a better cutting.

Farrah Fawcett looks really stunning in this shorty/wetsuit.

Here are some DVD covers of this movie as a bonus:

Hmh, not easy to get this one on DVD, especially outside the US, will try to get my hands on it to add it to my collection!

An actress gets attacked by an evil female scuba diver! [UPGRADE]

This was one of my earliest posts:

https://frogwoman.org/swimmer-gets-attacked-by-mysterious-female-diver

….and I wanna make a new post about it as this one deserves a proper post with proper text!

And by making a new post I wanna present that scene/the movie to all folks who don’t know the original post from 2013.

This one is very special to me, and I wanna explain why, but first, check out some preview pictures and the video.

Preview:

And here is the video:

Ok, some backstory first.

The woman who walks into the lake is playing an actress in a movie…in the movie. She is the leading lady.

The villainess already killed off some folks throughout the movie with various methods (drowning (no UW footage), bow and arrow, etc.).

So, at the very beginning, you can see the safety diver who was supposed to look out for the actress in the lake has already been murdered (wasn’t shown in the movie).

She has the same type of wetsuit as he does, she is well-prepared.

And damn, I just love her wetsuit, she looks great in that smooth skin wetsuit 🙂

The way the camera moves higher on her body and she puts on her scuba mask….well done!

What is funny is the fact that her first stage is on the wrong side, her left side….and so the regulator is also wrong as it is upside-down in her mouth (the exhale on top).

Reminds me of the scuba scene with Claudine Auger in Thunderball, where the same mistake happened.

Seems like the filming crew here didn’t know much about scuba diving 😉

Later on, as she is underwater the mistake is corrected.

The “good” woman is wearing a wetsuit and scuba socks under her coat they don’t bother hiding it especially as she is out of the water again in the end. But I guess she was wearing that for the filming of that scene of the movie that they shot inside this movie…..quite confusing 😆

Underwater, there are two main problems for me.

The visibility is quite bad and I guess therefore the camera is very close to the two women, too close sometimes.

But I love the breathing sounds of the villainess and the fact that the other woman fights back, she isn’t totally passive like other women in other movies.

Several times she tries to steal the regulator of the villainess….. so great!

The villainess “only” needs to keep her underwater, even though that would be pretty difficult in reality, as the other woman has no weights on her and is even wearing a wetsuit!

I think it would be hard to keep her from surfacing, but okay, it’s only a small issue.

It’s also a little off that the guy immediately finds the two in a murky lake and without a scuba mask. Yeah, there are bubbles from the regulator of the villainess, but I think it would be really difficult to find them quickly. Especially without a scuba mask.

It’s a shame that the detective was already in scuba gear and disturbs the villainess.

A shame that the villainess here wasn’t able to put up more of a fight. Quickly he yanks down her mask hard and thereby also removes her regulator. With one swift move, she is finished.

Seemingly he quickly yanks down her scuba hood as soon they hit the surface because her hood is already down as the camera shows her.

I love the way she looks as they drag her away in her gorgeous scuba outfit!

And the whole idea of having this villainess putting on that scuba gear to sneakily kill a woman in a film shooting is just brilliant and quite ….sexy….for me.

I mean it’s incredibly rare to have a frogwoman who tries to kill someone. Especially in such a sexy wetsuit!

This villainess here is one of my favorite villainesses of all time.

And even though the scuba scene has quite some flaws, I will make an entry in the Hall of Fame, where you already can find a special “wetsuit cut” video of this scene!

Would have loved to see how she would have escaped from the lake in her wetsuit…

Male diver attacks female swimmer [UPGRADE + special cut]

Time for another upgrade!

This one deserves a video quality upgrade and proper text too.

As I made this post back in 2014:

https://frogwoman.org/male-diver-attacks-female-swimmer-baywatch

The picture quality of that video back then and the screens looked like VHS quality or so…. really bad.

Time to have an HD version!

Thanks to the nice guy who knew the episode number of this one 🙂

And here is the video:

Watch the video before you continue!

Yeah, I know…no female scuba diver in this one. But still a very interesting scene in my opinion!

From what I know of the episode this guy was hired to kill her. And his plan is quite sinister!

Faking an emergency and then waiting for her to swim to him and then attack her by surprise.

He has all the advantages, a scuba mask and scuba tank…..and I guess he would have been successful if not the guy did show up.

What is a little odd here is her behavior, it’s very passive for the most part. Only just before the guy arrives to save her she goes on the attack.

But she doesn’t manage to get his regulator or rip off his mask. Her hands are free and touching his head just before her rescuer shows up. What was she doing there?

I don’t think that was in the script, I guess they rather thought no one would notice 😉

However, a very sexy scene with a very attractive woman!

I guess in my version he would rather lure a female scuba diver into his trap….but that would be even harder to arrange…. as long as he has a special target.

The whole scene could be better without the guy at her house as that slows down the action big time.

For you folks, I made a special cut with all the important scenes!

Here is the blog-exclusive video that isn’t on my (public) Youtube channel:

Female scuba diver gets attacked by another diver! [Hall of Fame – UPGRADE]

As I am re-uploading all the videos onto the new Frogwoman Org Youtube channel I stumbled upon some videos that certainly deserve an UPGRADE.

In many cases, there is now a better picture quality available, and also back in the early days of the blog, I wrote only very little in my blog posts.

So, along with providing a video with better quality I also wanna provide a much longer text like the ones I write in recent years.

This scene is an absolute classic if you are interested in scuba fights. The picture quality of the video I present here is now a little better.

This is my old post back from 2014 about the scene:

https://frogwoman.org/female-scuba-diver-gets-attacked-by-another-diver

Preview:

And here is the video:

Certainly a really good scuba fight/peril scene even it has quite some flaws for me.

The scene where he attacks her is quite odd. He appears right in front of her and seemingly she didn’t see him before?!? I mean perhaps he was hiding but you see the bubbles of a diver, especially when he is in front of you.

Check out how she reacts to his attack, both her arms go for his right arm that is wielding the knife. Yeah, the knife is a big thread but his other arm is thereby completely free and he can rip off her mask without any struggle. Also, it seems like she is using only one of her arms after his initial attack….quite odd. Normally a diver should use both hands to attack or block the other diver’s hands so that you can control them. But ok, she certainly was surprised by him….

She is very, very, very passive in the whole scene. Yeah, he (seemingly) surprised her but she didn’t even try to rip away his mask or regulator, would have been great if she did!

What is bothering me here the most is her reaction after he ripped away her mask and regulator.

She doesn’t try to get her regulator back or is attacking him to get his regulator. She just tries to get to the surface….

But even if that would be successful, he would still be there and could attack her again with him being totally in advantage with his knife and scuba mask.

And is badly scripted how calmy she is trying to get away from him and to the surface. She almost looks bored in the video! 😆

She should be in a panic right now!

I mean he attacked her underwater!

She is about to drown!!!

But she looks like she is watching a documentary about the different shades of white paint 😉

But ok, enough of that. This one is one of the very few scenes where a female scuba diver gets attacked and drowned in a movie or TV show.

And despite its flaws, it’s quite thrilling and sexy as a (fictional) scene!

Maybe I’m imagining things but as the evil guy dives away there is a suspicious bulge on his wetsuit….. I guess the actor/stunt diver did enjoy the scene 😉

In case you don’t know the title/episode of the TV show:

IMDB-link

IMDB lists this one as episode 34 of season 3. My information is that is episode 20.

But whatever is correct the title of the episode on IMDB is correct!

A weird scuba lesson in a crap movie

[1st post for today]

I don’t use the word “crap” very often around movies. But here, it does fit really well!

Stumbled upon this one by chance as I saw the movie poster and the title.

Both were kind of promising, so I checked it out.

Well, the good news is the movie does have a scuba scene….the bad news is…well, see for yourself:

Preview:

And here is the video:

Ok, where to start?

What the hell is going on in this scene?

It starts as a rather normal scuba lesson, but things go really sideways….

Ok, she gets some kind of panic attack as she is thinking about some shark attack (nice plastic shark).

But the way she behaves is so weird and unlogical.

She could easily just stand up and surface as she is in very shallow water. Problem solved!

By the way: Where is the scuba instructor? Has he gone to lunch and left her alone with the scuba gear in the pool? Oh man, completely crazy and irresponsible as hell!

But what does she do instead of surfacing?

She rips off her scuba mask….ok, why? She seems to have problems with having water in her nose…so ripping off the mask wasn’t helping 😉

Then she spits out her regulator. Ok, well, now she sees nearly nothing and has no air while being in very shallow water….. well…..

What is going on? Seems like she has a death wish or is crazy.

Then the good guy comes to her help and “saves” her. Oh boy…

And by the way²: Why is she wearing shorts over her bathing suit? But ok, that is one of the less weird things here…..

Hilariously and/or sadly this is actually the only scuba scene and also the only scene with real underwater footage.

You barely see any shark in the whole movie which is quite funny if you know the movie title.

Wanna know the “movie” title?

These days I don’t give much about IMDB ratings anymore, but the 1.6 is well deserved 😉

“Empty Tank” by Vicky Devika

After I already posted about a Vicky video on Monday, I wanna present one more stunning video from Vicky Devika today!

Over the last year, I already presented more than 10 videos of her in which she wore stunning outfits and used all sorts of different scuba masks.

In these videos, some great fantasies of mine come to life, and I am sure that many of you will love these videos as well!

Today I wanna present the video “Empty Tank”.

Official description by Vicky:

It’s that ultimate fantasy I keep thinking about… I’m underwater and my air is running low… Only 300 PSI on the gauge! We both know it’s gonna be completely empty soon.

I wait with anticipation until the air runs out, and my mind is going through all the wildest scenarios…

Join me for another scuba peril fantasy scene!

Here are some images from the video:

(click on the picture to enlarge it to full size)

And a preview snippet:

https://imagecdn.clips4sale.com/accounts99/147443/clip_images/Vicky_Devika_Empty_Tank-GIF.gif

I would guess she filmed this video directly after the “Dive with me“.

The scuba gear is the same, the setting/lightning is the same as well.

But this time the video starts when she is already really low on air, and I must say it was great to see how she greedily sucks for air but the tank is completely empty at one point.

No air left at all, but Vicky manages to hold on for quite a while! Far longer than I could, I might add.

With headphones on, hearing and watching Vicky in latex running out of air….that’s quite something! 🙂

Especially as she is clawing at her regulator, realizing it won’t give her any air anymore.

The next level would be to see another frogwoman battling Vicky, that would be a(nother) dream scenario! 😉

The Deep House [scuba movie – review]

Earlier this year in May I made two posts about a new scuba movie:

https://frogwoman.org/the-deep-house-a-new-and-very-promising-scuba-horror-flick

https://frogwoman.org/the-deep-house-the-trailer-is-out

And I even heard about it much earlier in the year.

Now I was finally able to watch the movie!

Making a post about it as I usually do, would be quite impossible.

In the post, I will post some minor to average spoilers but NO big spoilers about the ending.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Normally I post basically all the scuba scenes from a movie as they normally have only one or two.

In this case, that won’t work. Ok, I could post the highlight scenes of it….but I decided against that, at least for now.

If you are interested in scuba, scuba action, scuba peril….then this movie is a MUST-see for you!

The movie has an introduction of about 20 minutes, and then the whole rest of the movie is set underwater!

As the movie has a total runtime of about 80 minutes….well….yeah….this movie has 60 minutes of scuba diving in it!

Thereby the movie practically shows their dive in real-time!

That is why I can only recommend watching the WHOLE movie instead of some snippets.

Now to the movie, is it worth the time and money?

Well, I certainly think it is! 😉

The storyline is simple, a couple is filming themselves as they enter haunted houses, cool places, and such things and upload these videos for the followers.

They heard of a lake that isn’t on any map and that there would be a house in that lake in great condition.

So, they decide to dive down to the house where the action begins as they aren’t alone there!

The movie certainly takes its time before the horror really starts and I’m glad the trailer showed so little of it.

The overall idea of why this house is a horror house is solid. The atmosphere is building up really well as the two divers proceed further into the house.

The sound is really good, especially with headphones or a nice Surround Set!

The scuba gear is quite nice. Standard wetsuits with BCD’s on the back where they belong! And they are using solid full-face masks.

Now, some pictures from the movie:

(medium) SPOILERS AHEAD! I recommend watching the movie before you continue!

(medium) SPOILERS AHEAD! I recommend watching the movie before you continue!

(medium) SPOILERS AHEAD! I recommend watching the movie before you continue!

Like in Breaking Surface the main enemy of the divers is time and the dwindling oxygen reserves. But in a hunted house there are also other problems 😉

Here you have to accept the fact that supernatural things are happening. I mean there is a house in pristine condition in a lake that was “made” decades ago.

They really did a good job in building these sets and I’m looking forward to finding hopefully some “making of” videos on a Blu-ray release in the future.

Spoiler title
I had hoped for a little more (scuba) action, especially as there is a twist near the ending that is perfect to have some more scuba action. Yeah, there are some struggle scenes near the very end, but I had hoped for more. But yeah, it’s hard to satisfy me in that direction. The “ghosts” should be more dangerous, which of course is difficult as they are basically underwater corpses who are quite slow (naturally). The most danger comes from their supernatural abilities.

The movie has just the 2 divers and one other guy in it (picture 1). But shooting underwater is complicated and expensive!

From the trailer, it was already clear that there would be “only” this couple, but it would have been great to have perhaps 2 more divers down there with them. That would provide more action scenes with the scuba divers.

Or perhaps no supernatural aspects and some enemy divers that are there to protect the house for some reason. And then some scuba fights in an underwater house! How fantastic would THAT be?!

But ok, that’s my fantasy 😉

All in all, the movie is really good and delivers quite a unique setting with 60 minutes of underwater scenes!

Yeah, there is some wasted potential here and there, but still, it is a very entertaining movie.

*EDIT* As I just learned, there is a short scene AFTER the credits, so check that out 😉

In some weeks I may post my highlight scene of this movie, but as I said, watch the whole movie!

Ok, enough from me.

Have you seen the movie already?

What do you think?

Feel welcome to leave a comment!
