Frogwoman VS 5 male divers! [aka How to totally ruin a great setting]

A nice guy recommended me a movie:

“…. and it involves one female diver against 4 male divers. The female diver also surfaces and fights men on a boat.”

Well, for a moment I was really thrilled! A female diver fights against 4 male divers??? Or even 5 if I’m counting right… Sounds great, sounds awesome!

But then I thought…. well, why don’t I know that scene after 900 years of searching for such scenes? And I got a really bad feeling…. πŸ˜‰

Here is a preview:

And here is the video from hell:

Well….. OH MY GOD!!! Or rather… WTF!!!

Ok, you have a frogwoman heroine and several evil divers…. and they actually do fight underwater…. and THIS is the result of the filming?

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!

I’m not sure if I should laugh my ass off or break down in tears…. or both.

A perfect example of how to totally ruin potential great scenes πŸ™

Some folks (not me) are complaining that the scuba battles in Thunderball are too long and “slow” as the water slows down the action.

I also remember that the director of the Thunderball remake “Never say never again” was also no fan of underwater fights.

So, perhaps the director of this “movie” thought about how he could make these fights more intense and with more speed (in his opinion).

And his solution was seemingly to just increase the playback speed… of many action scenes (even on land).

Well, the result is laughably bad… in my opinion… and totally ruins these scenes.

The murky water is also a problem and they seemingly had no underwater lights at all…

In the end, I can’t enjoy these underwater fights at all and am really annoyed afterward.

The wetsuit of the frogwoman is uninteresting and very loose… I guess so the actress/stunt woman could do her martial arts moves. Quite a turn-off.

I’m 99% sure that these scenes were partially cut, as we don’t see the first two frogmen get hit by the spear, but well…. cut or not cut… all hope is lost here.

Oddly enough a german DVD of this “movie” is released in a few days for very little money, guess I will buy that one for the scuba collection as a perfect example on how to NOT do a scuba fight scene.

There are no more scuba scenes with her in this one.

Wanna know the title of this insane flick?

A sexy female scuba assassin and her gorgeous target

Today I wanna present an ongoing picture storyline that is incredibly sexy!

Check out the pictures:

*EDIT* June 3: added 3 more pictures!

*EDIT* June 26: added 3 more pictures!

(click on the images to enlarge them to full size)

Well…. just …. WOW!

The scuba assassin is just incredibly sexy in her black rubber/latex(?) suit and FFM. Love the corrugated hoses πŸ™‚

The gorgeous target is also smoking hot. As I have a thing for pantyhose/tights… it’s a great bonus that she is wearing tights!

The way they struggle on the yacht is already very…. stimulating… and the fact that the assassin is still breathing with her FFM is just great.

And it gets even better…

Love how the two struggle underwater as the assassin tries to drown her target.

It’s such a great aspect that the alleged victim is fighting back and starts to pull on one of the air hoses of the diver!

Perhaps she already pinches the hose and thereby the diver does get much less air than normal. πŸ™‚

The combination of the sexy women, their great outfits, and the scuba peril is quite brilliant.

Can’t wait how this story will end!

If you check this blog frequently you might suspect what I wanna see next… πŸ˜‰

I will update the gallery here once there are new pictures.

Charlies Angels – Female scuba diver gets attacked… [UPGRADE – Hall of Fame]

This was one of the earliest posts on this blog back in 2013:

https://frogwoman.org/charlies-angels-female-scuba-diver-gets-attacked

And today it’s time to make a proper post with a FULL HD UPGRADE and proper text!

This one is an absolute classic …in my opinion…. and I will tell you why, but let’s start with some pictures first.

Preview, Scene 1:

And here is the video:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XnMswuTY5QD3mT2NuA4ml-zzZJXhQqUY/view?usp=sharing

(had problems with these scenes on Youtube in the past)

Watch the video before you continue!

So, you might guess why this one is a classic for me πŸ˜‰

So, we have two beautiful women in nice vintage scuba gear! Ok, the BCD vests are kind of uncool…but at least they are only on the back.

The scuba fight is done pretty well, a nice struggle, she is occupied with controlling his knife hand as it’s the greatest threat to her.

They roll around nicely and finally, he manages to get his knife into position and slice her live-giving air hose!

It seems like they recorded the sound from her escaping air in a studio or so. Not 100% sure.

However, it sounds as sexy to me as it looks!

Lucky for her, he ….seemingly….. “just” wants to scare her off for the moment as he immediately swims away instead of holding her back at that depth.

Ok, hard to say in which depths they were… If they were deep enough he might have thought that she wouldn’t make it to the surface or wouldn’t survive an emergency ascend.

Also, the other Angel is there to rescue her by starting buddy breathing with her.

The sight of a sliced air hose spewing bubbles is quite something for me! πŸ™‚

All in all, a very good scene that now finally gets into my Hall of Fame.

The end of the episode is also nice, as they look great with just their wetsuits on! Plus the nice Navy helicopter that reminds me of a certain movie with “some” scuba content πŸ˜‰

But there is one more very interesting scuba scene in this episode!

This time three frogwomen are underwater and the bad guy is there again.

Time for a rematch!

Preview, scene 2:

And here is the video:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n_61rGtLpY4UCueUteX0Gt_HOQ0_xZbb/view?usp=sharing

A good scene, but it seems a little….”lackluster” in the end.

One of them is charging him like a bull, and that without a scuba knife! (Why do the Angels haven’t got any knives?)

A very brave attack!

But then the two others join and the action gets very, very tame. They move slowly and a little “random”.

That scene could have used a better directing/script. It seems like they don’t fully know what to do here and there…..

The other two should have had a little more energy.

In my version, the frogwoman in yellow would fight with him.

The others would attack from behind and one would rip off his scuba mask and one would yank out his regulator.

But ok, in this version they have to escape the blast radius and he is staying back to get blown up πŸ˜‰

I will watch the full episode today to get the full backstory behind it.

This scene is special as 3 frogwomen are fighting against one frogman, even though it’s a short and tame struggle. Quite unique nonetheless…I would say.

Wanna know from which episode these scenes are?

IMDB says it’s episode 4 of that season, my info is episode 3….however the episode title of the IMDB link is 100% correct.

Black Widow – Female diver runs out of air! – [Hall of Fame – UPGRADE]

(….not the movie with Scarlett Johansson πŸ˜‰ )

Time to make another UPGRADE post with one of the best scuba peril scenes!

The old one had an SD video with about 4 minutes and basically no text.

Now I wanna present you with an HD video with over 7 minutes and a proper text alongside it!

If you don’t know these scenes already…I do envy you!

Let’s start with some preview pictures:

And here is the video:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18oBtiSAbFOb-_zbE0J-8JJOVYIsflmWw/view?usp=sharing

(wasn’t welcome on Youtube in the past)

Damn, I love that scene! So thrilling, so sexy!

Actress Theresa Russell, here “Catharine, the villainess”, looks gorgeous. Those legs in that high-cut wetsuit top…. oh boy….

Even though, the damn BCD vests are annoying and are obscuring the view.

Debra Winger, here “Alexandra” does a great job here as well.

I love the moment where she realizes that she doesn’t get any air anymore (or very little) and desperately sucks on her regulator.

She checks her air supply, and the pressure gauge shows that she should have air left.

She should now check immediately for her buddy and then make an emergency ascend when she doesn’t see her.

She just grabs onto her mouthpiece and slowly ascends, but ok, she has no scuba experience… no wonder she behaves like that.

The struggle between the two is cut sometimes a little odd, but it’s very intense and very sexy for me.

I’m still not 100% sure if Alexandra pulls out her own regulator or if Catharine is yanking it out of Alexandra’s mouth.

Pretty sure it’s the latter, as we can see Catharine’s hand reaching for it, before the cut.

The moment as Alexandra is without her regulator and both are staring at each other…..is awesome! Her villainous eyes starring at her victim….

Catharine hesitates for a long moment before she finally gives her her regulator….. very interesting πŸ˜‰

Some backstory for those who don’t know the movie (you should watch it):

Minor spoilers ahead!

Catharine has the habit of marrying rich guys who then mysteriously die under weird circumstances πŸ˜‰

Alexandra works for the FBI and investigates.

The two become friends more or less.

Catharine finds out that Alexandra is working for the FBI…. before this scuba scene.

So, she manipulates Alexandra’s scuba gear (not shown) so she would run out of air before her pressure gauge would show that.

So, we can speculate a little on Catharine’s moves after Alexandra runs out of air.

I would say she tries to stop her from ascending as she wants to drown her to get rid of her.

Catharine then fights so that Alexandra can’t ascend. It’s hard to say how far they are down….perhaps Alexandra wouldn’t have a chance, hard to say.

In the magic moment as Alexandra is without her regulator I think Catharine is thinking about what to do.

I mean she is the one who still has air and Alexandra is about to drown quickly.

In my opinion, Alexandra has then a change of heart and gives Alexandra her life-giving regulator.

A decision that she might regret later on… πŸ˜‰

After that Alexandra suspects that her scuba gear was manipulated….

One of my absolute favorites!

Great job by the sound department here as well. Love the sounds during the struggle πŸ™‚

In my version, the finale of the movie would have been a scuba fight between the two…. a scuba fight to the death!

Here is a nice poster:

Here is the IMDB page of the movie:

IMDB-link

P.S.:

I don’t know how it was handled in the 80s, but nowadays two newly certified divers shouldn’t/wouldn’t go on a dive alone.

They would need an experienced diver on their side.

And they also should have been at the surface again with that kind of oxygen reserve…but ok…

A short anecdote about the first time I saw this movie:

I was on holiday on some Mediterranean island in the mid-’90s as a teenager and it was late and the TV in the hotel room was on.

You could see several German TV stations there.

And there I saw a trailer from a TV station for this movie several days before the airing.

And the scuba scene was shown there as well, ok, only bits of it….but these bits got me excited big time!

I couldn’t wait to see that movie…. back then, TV airings, cinemas, and VHS tapes were the only chance to see such scenes.

What do you think of that scene?

An actress gets attacked by an evil female scuba diver! [UPGRADE]

This was one of my earliest posts:

https://frogwoman.org/swimmer-gets-attacked-by-mysterious-female-diver

….and I wanna make a new post about it as this one deserves a proper post with proper text!

And by making a new post I wanna present that scene/the movie to all folks who don’t know the original post from 2013.

This one is very special for me, and I wanna explain why, but first, check out some preview pictures and the video.

Preview:

And here is the video:

Ok, some backstory first.

The woman who walks into the lake is playing an actress in a movie…in the movie. She is the leading lady.

The villainess already killed off some folks throughout the movie with various methods (drowning (no UW footage), bow and arrow, etc.).

So, at the very beginning, you can see the safety diver who was supposed to look out for the actress in the lake already murdered (wasn’t shown in the movie).

She has the same type of wetsuit like he does, she is well prepared.

And damn, I just love her wetsuit, she looks great in that smooth skin wetsuit πŸ™‚

The way the camera moves higher on her body and she puts on her scuba mask….well done!

What is funny is the fact that her first stage is on the wrong side, her left side….and so the regulator is also wrong as it is upside-down in her mouth (the exhale on top).

Reminds me of the scuba scene with Claudine Auger in Thunderball, where the same mistake happened.

Seems like the filming crew here didn’t know much about scuba diving πŸ˜‰

Later on, as she is underwater the mistake got corrected.

The “good” woman is wearing a wetsuit and scuba socks under her coat they don’t bother in hiding it especially as she is out of the water again in the end. But I guess she was wearing that for the filming of that scene of the movie that they shot inside this movie…..quite confusing πŸ˜†

Underwater, there are two main problems for me.

The visibility is quite bad and I guess therefore the camera is very close to the two women, too close sometimes.

But I love the breathing sounds of the villainess and the fact that the other woman fights back, she isn’t totally passive like other women in other movies.

Several times she tries to steal the regulator of the villainess….. so great!

The villainess “only” needs to keep her underwater, even that would be pretty difficult in reality, as the other woman has no weights on her and is even wearing a wetsuit!

I think it would be hard to keep her from surfacing, but ok, only a small issue.

It’s also a little off that the guy does immediately find the two in a murky lake and that without a scuba mask. Yeah, there are bubbles from the regulator of the villainess, but I think it would be really difficult to find them quickly. Especially without a scuba mask.

It’s a shame that the detective was already in scuba gear and disturbs the villainess.

A shame that the villainess here wasn’t able to put up more of a fight. Quickly he yanks down her mask hard and thereby also removes her regulator. With one swift move, she is finished.

Seemingly he quickly yanks down her scuba hood as soon they hit the surface because her hood is already down as the camera shows her.

I love the way she looks as they drag her away in her gorgeous scuba outfit!

And the whole idea of having this villainess putting on that scuba gear to sneakily kill a woman in a film shooting is just brilliant and quite ….sexy….for me.

I mean it’s incredibly rare to have a frogwoman who tries to kill someone. Especially in such a sexy wetsuit!

This villainess here is one of my favorite villainesses of all time.

And even the scuba scene has quite some flaws, I will make an entry in the Hall of Fame, where you already can find a special “wetsuit cut” video of this scene!

Would have loved to see how she would have escaped from the lake in her wetsuit…

A scuba fight with 4 men and 1 woman! [UPGRADE]

Another video needed an UPGRADE big time as there is a good scuba fight in it!

This was the old post:

If you enlarge these pictures you see the poor quality….

And I also wanna provide proper text along with the video πŸ˜‰

And here is the video:

I do have some mixed feelings with this one, but let’s start by providing some backstory and explanation!

The two good guys are searching for the radioactive container while two bad guys follow them.

In the fight, one of the bad guys rips off the mask of one of the good guys.

But luckily for him, our frogwoman arrives to save him as she rips out the regulator of the bad guy.

And seemingly the two bad guys now realize they are outnumbered by 2 to 3 and give up.

It’s quite odd that no spear guns or knives get used in the fight…. all hand-to-hand fighting and no one gets hurt as the bad guys give up easily and withdraw.

I would understand that ….if this would be a TV show for kids, but well…it isn’t.

What is a classic problem is that …basically… all the divers are wearing the same equipment in the same colors.

Yeah, the heroine has a blue-colored regulator, but one of her buddies has one as well.

And all are wearing black wetsuits….

I wonder what the guy or gal who was responsible for the scuba gear thought:

“Ah, well, let’s give them all black wetsuits and similar gear so they look almost the same! “

Odd….. very basic mistake!

However, I like the setting here where it is the frogwoman who saves the day by joining the fight. Somehow it’s like in Thunderball where Bond joined the fight and finished off so many SPECTRE divers.

Here the bad guys had already a big advantage as one of the good guys had lost his scuba mask….

And it’s quite rare to have a scene where a frogwoman pulls out the regulator of another diver. She is certainly a capable frogwoman! πŸ™‚

There are some more scuba scenes in this episode but without frogwomen.

The frogwoman in her anti-shark suit and evil divers in business suits

I know this scene for a long time and never really thought of making a post about it.

Last year a nice guy recommended me this one again and mentioned that there was a longer cut of this movie that contained much more scuba scenes than the standard cut.

I checked it and still wasn’t sure if I would make a post about it. I mean the overall tone is just very goofy.

The downside is that the extended cut isn’t available in really good quality, at least to my knowledge. But better to have more scuba scenes here πŸ˜‰

The scuba scenes here are very long and mostly focused on the male main character.

So, I decided to make a video with all her scenes, a frogwoman cut of the scenes πŸ˜‰

Preview:

And here is the video:

Watch the video before you continue!

I included some scenes with her out of her anti-shark suit as you can see.

All in all some nice scenes, especially like the scene where the evil diver yanks off her mask to steal the little tank from her (that contains something everyone is after).

A shame that this whole tone is so goofy and that there is never any real danger (for the good guys) as this here is basically more a comedy than everything else at this point.

The scene where Jackie Chan uses her (and her suit) as a shield against the bad guy with the huge knife is quite nice as well. Certainly a unique scene.

Pretty hilarious that he kicks her then and she “flies” some meters through the water πŸ˜†

*EDIT* Thanks to a nice user and his comment I wanna post the picture right here in the post:

A female scuba murderer? [+BONUS scene]

Now to a mysterious TV episode!

We have 3 divers and a scuba murderer!

But who was it? That’s the question!

Preview:

And here is the video:

Watch the episode before you continue!

Ok, I watched the whole episode of this TV show. But in the end, I was pretty confused….

But let’s start at the beginning.

At first, I was sure that she was the killer! She smiled somehow triumphantly as she entered the boat after the dive. She had gloves, unlike her boyfriend….and the killer was wearing gloves.

Later on in the episode, another murder like this happens, it is just the same…. a surprise attack with a rock from behind.

Then a guy is presented as the potential killer. But did he kill both scuba divers? The ending of the episode is so confusing, that I’m not 100% sure who actually killed these 2 divers.

Well, I’m 90% sure that this guy was the killer (he was on another boat nearby)….but I like the idea of her being the villainous murderer πŸ˜‰

And the murderer in the picture above looks rather slim for a guy…

But perhaps someone who watched the whole episode also can enlighten us!

What is really annoying for me is that all the divers in this scene are wearing basically the same gear in the same colors.

I hate it when that happens as you then can only guess who is who….especially when there are no closeups to the face underwater.

But ok, here it is used to confuse the audience so that you would suspect either one, the woman, or her boyfriend to be the murderer.

Yeah, I know they can cover a lot more ground with 3 divers in different areas, but it’s very irresponsible that everyone here is diving alone.

But ok, the murder was only possible this way…

*EDIT*, February 14:

As a BONUS for the folks who visit the blog, here is the 2nd scene I was talking about…

So, who was the murderer?

I leave that up to your fantasy…or maybe one of you has the answer after watching the whole episode….

Frogwomen rivalry with Frogwomen Alice and Lucy [5th video of Project F]

Today I wanna present another video of Project F!

A very special one as this contains a nice action scene πŸ˜‰

Frogwomen rivalry with Frogwomen Alice and Lucy, 1080p, 60 frames, 4:25 minutes

Frogwoman Alice is wearing the Elios vintage style beavertail smooth skin wetsuit. For the most part, she is using a Scubapro C370, later on, a Royal Mistral Double Hose Regulator.

Frogwoman Lucy is wearing the Aquasphere Pursuit smooth skin wetsuit and a Mares Abyss regulator.

Some preview pictures:

The picture quality in the video does actually look a little better than the screenshots

–

A short trailer that also includes scenes from this video:

I thought hard if I should publish the 4th picture above. I mean it spoilers the action scene, but in the end, it has to be there so that you folks know that there is this action scene at the end.

And from that picture you still don’t know how it’s gonna end so… I think it’s good to have it.

In parts of this video, I am using the small 1L Smaco tank that Lucy used in video 2 as I wanted to be at the bottom of the pool so the two frogwomen could dive above me.

For the most part of the video Frogwoman, Alice is wearing a Cressi mask with a mirror effect so that you only can see through the glass from certain angles. I think it’s a really cool mask for a mysterious frogwoman. For the last scene, they swapped their masks as I think that mask fits better to the “evil” frogwoman.

I recommend that you watch the video before you continue!

SPOILERS ahead!

(click on the “Spoiler title+” field below IF you wanna read the spoilers)

Spoiler title
I am very happy that the two agreed to make that last scene as not everyone would be OK with actually doing that. Frogwoman Lucy had only perhaps one hour or less of scuba experience (in total) was willing to do something that nearly no diver has actually ever done. Frogwoman Alice had to react fittingly to the action, which she did really well, especially considering this was all very much improvised as time was running out quickly.

But I am happy with the outcome, especially as a scene like that wasn’t done like that, at least not to my knowledge. I mean how many scenes do you know where a hose of a frogwoman with a double hose regulator gets sliced by another diver? I know exactly one fetish video where that happens…..and there they cheat big time as the outtake hose gets cut…which isn’t a real problem for the “victim”. I do know not a single movie where that happens.

If you look closely you can see that the two hoses of her double hose regulator are different. I swapped the original hose from the ’60s (!) with a modern version that was less flexible and thicker. With the first slice, Frogwoman Lucy damaged the air hose as you can see as air is already escaping. The second slice severed the hose at another place as the “salvaged” air hose showed later. Perhaps the damaged air hose would have ripped also as the air was pumping through it later one….hard to say.

And this all was just a test run for much more scripted scenes I have in mind for the next shooting! These will have a (simple) storyline with more action and “deadly” outcomes as well…. and then my camera skills and lightning skills will have improved as well πŸ˜‰

I underestimated how loud the noise would be as she surfaced and the air was still blown out of that sliced hose….. Above the surface, I quickly closed the valve, but damn, that was QUITE loud! I actually filmed that as the camera was still running as I closed the valve.

Also if you look closely in the buddy breathing scene, it looks like Lucy is pulling the octopus regulator away from Alice….perhaps on purpose as a foresign of the next scene? πŸ˜‰

Editing:

I used the same filters as before (white balance, 10% more brightness in the shadows, text).

The original/raw footage was about some minutes longer but contained some footage where we discussed some aspects in between the shots.

You can download these videos, but only for your personal use.

Don’t share them with anyone…. anywhere!

It’s pretty simple, I had to spend a lot of money, especially on scuba gear and location rent.

A lot of my …limited… savings were used up for that.

If I don’t make enough money with these videos…..I won’t be able to make new videos.

So…. I hope you appreciate these videos and want to see more in the future.

Wanna watch this video?

Well, then send 4.99 Euro in my direction (aka 4,99 Euro depending on in which country you live in).

Every video that will be for individual sales like this one will have an individual price… so I know instantly what video you want by the amount that you send.

The details can be found on this page (scroll down to video 5):

The Deep House [scuba movie – review]

Earlier this year in May I made two posts about a new scuba movie:

https://frogwoman.org/the-deep-house-a-new-and-very-promising-scuba-horror-flick

https://frogwoman.org/the-deep-house-the-trailer-is-out

And I even heard about it much earlier in the year.

Now I was finally able to watch the movie!

Making a post about it as I usually do, would be quite impossible.

In the post, I will post some minor to average spoilers but NO big spoilers about the ending.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Normally I post basically all the scuba scenes from a movie as they normally have only one or two.

In this case, that won’t work. Ok, I could post the highlight scenes of it….but I decided against that, at least for now.

If you are interested in scuba, scuba action, scuba peril….then this movie is a MUST-see for you!

The movie has an introduction of about 20 minutes, and then the whole rest of the movie is set underwater!

As the movie has a total runtime of about 80 minutes….well….yeah….this movie has 60 minutes of scuba diving in it!

Thereby the movie practically shows their dive in real-time!

That is why I can only recommend watching the WHOLE movie instead of some snippets.

Now to the movie, is it worth the time and money?

Well, I certainly think it is! πŸ˜‰

The storyline is simple, a couple is filming themselves as they enter haunted houses, cool places, and such things and upload these videos for the followers.

They heard of a lake that isn’t on any map and that there would be a house in that lake in great condition.

So, they decide to dive down to the house where the action begins as they aren’t alone there!

The movie certainly takes its time before the horror really starts and I’m glad the trailer showed so little of it.

The overall idea of why this house is a horror house is solid. The atmosphere is building up really well as the two divers proceed further into the house.

The sound is really good, especially with headphones or a nice Surround Set!

The scuba gear is quite nice. Standard wetsuits with BCD’s on the back where they belong! And they are using solid full-face masks.

Now, some pictures from the movie:

(medium) SPOILERS AHEAD! I recommend watching the movie before you continue!

Like in Breaking Surface the main enemy of the divers is time and the dwindling oxygen reserves. But in a hunted house there are also other problems πŸ˜‰

Here you have to accept the fact that supernatural things are happening. I mean there is a house in pristine condition in a lake that was “made” decades ago.

They really did a good job in building these sets and I’m looking forward to finding hopefully some “making of” videos on a Blu-ray release in the future.

Spoiler title
I had hoped for a little more (scuba) action, especially as there is a twist near the ending that is perfect to have some more scuba action. Yeah, there are some struggle scenes near the very end, but I had hoped for more. But yeah, it’s hard to satisfy me in that direction. The “ghosts” should be more dangerous, which of course is difficult as they are basically underwater corpses who are quite slow (naturally). The most danger comes from their supernatural abilities.

The movie has just the 2 divers and one other guy in it (picture 1). But shooting underwater is complicated and expensive!

From the trailer, it was already clear that there would be “only” this couple, but it would have been great to have perhaps 2 more divers down there with them. That would provide more action scenes with the scuba divers.

Or perhaps no supernatural aspects and some enemy divers that are there to protect the house for some reason. And then some scuba fights in an underwater house! How fantastic would THAT be?!

But ok, that’s my fantasy πŸ˜‰

All in all, the movie is really good and delivers quite a unique setting with 60 minutes of underwater scenes!

Yeah, there is some wasted potential here and there, but still, it is a very entertaining movie.

*EDIT* As I just learned, there is a short scene AFTER the credits, so check that out πŸ˜‰

In some weeks I may post my highlight scene of this movie, but as I said, watch the whole movie!

Ok, enough from me.

Have you seen the movie already?

What do you think?

Today I wanna present two banners that a very nice and talented guy made for me and Project F:

(click on the image to enlarge it to full size – these are only thumbnails)

These images do show what I would love to see in Project F (among other things)!

Take banner 2 for example: Jane Bond in her red rubber wetsuit encounters a SPECTRE frogwoman and that fight can only have one winner!

Perhaps inspired by the fight with James Bond and the frogman below the Disco Volante. πŸ˜‰

Here is the link to his DeviantArt account, check it out for more gorgeous women in scuba gear:

Thanks again for these banners!

They will be put to good use in representing the Project.

A frogwoman in black rubber in a shark documentary from 1971

I stumbled upon a very new documentary “Playing with sharks: The Valerie Taylor story” about the (very remarkable) life of Valerie Taylor.

Until then I haven’t heard about her…but that knowledge gap could be closed πŸ˜‰

That documentary is well worth a watch, I highly wanna recommend it!

But this post is actually (mostly) about another documentary….a documentary that is mentioned several times in “Playing with sharks”.

A documentary from 1971, with sharks…and Valerie Taylor in black rubber for most time underwater!

The film crew is on the hunt for a great white shark as they wanna film him underwater as he is feeding….something that was never done before (before 1971)!

For you folks I made a highlight cut with my favorite scenes πŸ˜‰

Here is the video:

Watch the video before you continue!

There are a lot more scenes of her in that rubber suit, but then the video would get way too long πŸ˜‰

Some years earlier she might also have used a double hose regulator, but those were already on the retreat since the mid-’60s.  πŸ™

But I really love her suit…for me, it can’t get much better than such a black rubber wetsuit!

And did you realize that fish did bite in her air hose at around 2:38???!

That fish was just curious…luckily for her, that bite wasn’t strong enough to puncture her only air hose.

Of course, even that wouldn’t have been a problem for her as she is a very skilled diver and help would have been nearby.

But still, I really like that scene! I wonder what would have happened if she had had a corrugated air hose…. as these are way easier to damage/puncture.

The documentary itself….is very problematic….from today’s point of view.

The research on sharks was only at the beginning and it shows big time. This documentary was watched all around the world and I think it’s safe to say that it played an important role in the development of Spielberg’s blockbuster “Jaws”.

Taylor did actually film some shots for it some years later with her husband.

I still really love that movie, even I know it’s fantasy and that sharks don’t behave like that.

For the sharks that movie was surely catastrophic in many ways.

In the new documentary “Playing with sharks” that I mentioned earlier….Valerie Taylor reflects a lot on how her attitude towards sharks and sea life in general has changed over the years.

So, I can recommend to watch both documentaries as you then get the whole “picture”, even you should have a strong stomach for watching the old documentary as there is a lot of cruelty vs aninmals….especially whales….in it.

Here is a picture of the new documentary:

Also….a lot of interesting scuba gear from the ’50s onwards…in this one.

Wanna know the title of this documentary?

The trailer for this blog and its Youtube channel

After very little participation in the second round of different trailer music tracks….I was a little disappointed and thought about the whole trailer thing.

Today I finished the trailer. Basically, it’s the very first version that I uploaded, now with some changes to the order of scenes and some fixes to the music.

…and I added the intro and outro text.

Here it is:

If a regular visitor of this blog you should know most of these scenes already.

If you don’t then you have some “homework” to do πŸ˜‰

Many (the best) of the scenes from the trailer can be found in my “Hall of Fame” section here on the blog.

If you live in Japan and can’t see the trailer on Youtube (blocked there), then you can watch/download the trailer here:
