Update on Project F video shoots + new gear for the next video shoot + the chance to a vintage Thunderball magazine

So, that title got long enough… just a quick post for this week:

1) Project F video shoots

As you may have already read in yesterday’s update in the post from August 1… I canceled the video shoot in the lake that was planned for today.

It is rather cold for early August… and more importantly… there are tons of clouds. Not the conditions where I wanna spend several hundred Euros to make a video shoot.

I need some solid sunlight for the lighting.

That means the next video shoot will be the long-planned 9-hour video shoot in the pool in 2 weeks (August 18).

I think I will make a new attempt at a video shoot in the lake in 4 weeks (September 1).

If I can get enough participants on that date, the weather is at least average and the lake is still warm enough.

2) New gear for the next video shoot on August 18

I’m still on the lookout for new scuba gear. Do you have any ideas …wishes?

I am thinking about getting a spear gun… even if it wouldn’t be fired, basically just for “show”.

Always on the lookout for sexy new wetsuits… especially with smooth skin, that makes it look like rubber.

But right now I find it hard to find a suit that brings really something new to the collection… a suit that isn’t too similar to the ones I have already and that looks great.

Perhaps a (darker) blue smooth-skin wetsuit would be a great addition.

But it’s hard to find one that looks good, isn’t too expensive (up to around 200 Euro), and is available in the EU if possible. (no custom fees and faster transport)

As an example I often buy new gear …here… (and on Ebay).

Frogwomen Kara and Demi in “Scuba Spy 3” – [24th video of Project F – 3rd video shoot]

So, it’s time for the seventh video of the 3rd video shoot of “Project F”, the last one from that video shoot.

In this video, Agent Kara is taking pictures of a secret underwater base of Spectre (#some imagination required) and gets attacked by an evil frogwoman…

….and only ONE of them will survive!

Background info:

This one is a good example of how much I want and do not want to show here. I mentioned above that only one of them would survive the fight.

It would be certainly good for promo reasons to include a picture of the ending here.

But at the same time, I don’t want to fully spoil it by showing that… as you then would know who will win the fight.

So, I chose the middle way… maybe I will use a picture of the ending in a week or two, but not now.

This video was more difficult to make than the previous ones, we had a script and reshoot some scenes, especially the final one.

That also made the editing more complicated in comparison as well…. for some scenes.

In the end, I’m happy with the result! I made some notes on things that can be improved in the future.

The GoPro I use for filming is doing a good job… but it has one aspect that can be problematic:

As the camera is tiny… the screen is tiny as well, and that makes it pretty hard to see all the details especially while filming underwater.

Kara and Demi did a fine job, especially considering how little scuba experience they have/had and that this scenario was quite challenging.

As a BONUS for you guys, I decided to also include a BONUS version with a lot of awesome music from Thunderball!

I hope you folks like that version as well and appreciate the effort, if not… just watch the “normal” version 😉

Now a minor spoiler, so don’t continue unless you have seen the video!

In the end scene, the regulator wasn’t supposed to exhaust bubbles, even as we repeated the scene several times it always did… so just ignore these bubbles 😉

We could have closed the valve for the scene… but that was a little too risky as both had very little scuba experience.

It’s pretty simple, I had to spend a lot of money:

All that scuba gear, location rent, and the money for the frogwomen and the safety diver.

If I don’t make enough money with these videos….. I won’t be able to make new videos at some point.

After all, you get all those Project F videos each month + additional content for just 12 euros (or even less per month if you get into the VIP club for more than one month).

I would say that is quite a bargain!

Also, I do hope that the amount of VIP club members will be higher with the current price as it would be with a higher price.

The rotation periods for each video will get a little longer though. When a video leaves the VIP club it will be out for at least 4 months.

But still, there will be 5-6 Project F videos in it each month.

Before the 2nd video shoot, I came up with the idea to make a little (verrrrrry obvious) Easter Egg video for my favorite movie.

Some years ago I made an extra Thunderball page for it with links to extra pages to certain scenes and topics.

Some days ago I had the idea to have a little quiz about Thunderball and that the extra, special, secret bonus video would be the reward for those who master it.

It’s just a very short video, but if you like Thunderball and/or wanna see Frogwoman Lucy on the surface in an Elios vintage beavertail wetsuit… you will LOVE it 😉

Two rubber frogwomen in a crazy James Bond rip-off movie

I saw this one ages ago but never thought about making a post about it.

But well, it deserves one for sure!

In the 60’s some agent named James Bond (you may have heard about him ;-)) started a landslide of Spy movies.

In a lot of countries, they started their own spy movies, more or less successful.

This one is quite special….for sure. And a perfect example to have some really great ingredients but to FAIL big time in the end (especially in terms of scenes we would like to see).

Ok, easy Siggi, calm down…..don’t get….too angry…..easy…….

OH MY GOD! What are these morons doing? …….. Breathe…..

The wasted potential on this one is …quite…GIGANTIC!

Let’s start at the beginning. You have the villain and a henchwoman. Unlike in Thunderball the henchwoman here actually gets into scuba gear, into a sexy black rubber wetsuit.

Ok, she is not as hot as Fiona Volpe….but…..that is nearly impossible to manage anyhow 😉

But what happens then? They go into the water….. and then…..they show up at some underwater base in wet wetsuits. No diving scene with her! A real shame.

She looks quite sexy in her wetsuit, even in black and white. Sadly most of us here don’t understand what they are talking about.

That henchwoman gets assigned to seduce and kill the “Bond” of this movie but gets killed in the end, very much like Fiona Volpe in Thunderball. They were really “inspired” by that one 😆

Then we have a hot good frogwoman who fires with some weird gun (air pistol?!? Oh boy…..) at the evil henchman. She is seen in full gear….so, I think we will see her diving!

Well…..actually….no! WHAT? WHY?!?! She gets into all that gear…and her wetsuit doesn’t even get wet (from the outside at least).

I’m really angry at this moment at the movie….and now it gets really weird.

There is a scuba fight going on between the hero and one evil diver that is COPIED completely out of this movie/scene (which I cut out here):

And now they did not remake it, it is the SAME scene!!!! They just copied (parts of) the underwater fight from the other movie into this one!

And seemingly no one had big issues with it as this version still exists like that.

But’s that not all. They even use a lot of the Thunderball soundtrack that they just use in their movie.

The usage of James Bond music in other movies isn’t completely new to me as I saw for example a Mexican movie with a lot of Bond music from the ’60s.

But using whole scenes….that is…stealing….on a whole new level 😆

It drives me crazy that the whole movie has two frogwomen in rubber that are never seen in the water at all! How great would it be if the good frogwoman would dive and then stumble upon the evil henchwoman! We could have had a great scuba fight…but no, not even anything close to that.

But well, in the end….we have two women in great vintage scuba gear….and that is something for sure! 🙂

But still ….I’m getting angry at this movie… 😆

The Bond girls of …Thunderball! [Behind the scenes]

A nice guy on a forum recommended me a certain video that was reviewing a James Bond documentary from 1965.

So, if you read 1965 you already may think of Thunderball as that was its release year. 😉

Well, the documentary actually deals with the first 4 Bond movies…incl. Thunderball.

In the documentary, you get some really nice scenes with the three major Bond girls of Thunderball.

As you (should) know there is only one scuba scene with Domino (Claudine Auger) in the movie.

In this documentary, there are some promo shots of the girls in bathing suits, bikini, and even wetsuits!

Let’s start with the most interesting part of the documentary you can find in the video below.

Well, with that kind of narration …you wouldn’t get away with it today 😉

But I like the voice, very fitting.

Sadly that was everything to find in this documentary related to the Bond girls in Thunderball. But it is very interesting material after all! 🙂

It’s great to see the women on the set in such outfits. Seeing Domino in wetsuit…in a nice glimpse in the department of “What could have been”.

And I still imaging Fiona Volpe (Luciana Paluzzi) in a black Spectre rubber wetsuit in the final scuba battle of the movie 😉

That would have been a proper ending for her.

Also in quite some footage, you see Paula (Martine Beswick) in action scenes against Spectre divers who seemingly wanna kidnap or kill her.

Sadly, they didn’t give her these kinds of scenes in the movie.

WANTED: “The Incredible World of James Bond” (documentary)

Thanks to a nice guy on a forum I was pointed towards a youtube video in which I learned that there is a documentary TV special “The Incredible World of James Bond” from 1965 to promote the Bond movies and to keep the hype up about the franchise who was at an all-time high back then.

There seems to be quite a lot of Thunderball behind the scenes snippets in it, so I would LOVE to see the whole thing!

I tried any source to get my hands on this documentary, but no luck.

So, has anybody perhaps an idea where to get it?

It wasn’t ever released on any media as I think. Perhaps it was put as a special on a DVD or Blu-ray of a James Bond movie, but I haven’t found any proof of that.

R.I.P. Sir Sean Connery

Yesterday was a very sad day.

Legendary Sir Sean Connery passed away on the Bahamas, aged 90.

I have quite a lot of his movies in my collection and he played a part in many fantastic movies like the James Bond movies, A Bridge too far, Indiana Jones and the last Crusade, the Untouchables and many more.

I could write a lot more about his other movies, but after all this blog is named Frogwoman, so why am I posting about him?

Well, the answer is quite simple:

The movie Thunderball influenced a LOT of people to get into scuba diving.

Sadly there was only one short scene were a woman actually scuba dives (Claudine Auger, who passed away in December last year).

But the movie offers over 30 minutes of underwater scenes and still -after over 50 years- the best scuba fight scenes in history!

I can’t possible tell how often I watched the movie and certain scenes of it.

Again I could write here endlessly about certain scenes…..but as a matter of fact…I already did.

Female game show participant jumps out of a plane with an oxygen mask [Blog exlusive]

Today I won’t show a scene with a female diver…today I wanna show a great scene with a woman in an oxygen mask!

Yeah, it would fit on my other blog as well, but I put it here because, much like a diver, she needs the oxygen to survive in a dangerous environment.

That’s why I post scenes with gas masks and oxygen masks here.

For a game show, she has to do a high-altitude jump.

She needs the oxygen mask to survive and tries it on before the jump.

I know most of you don’t speak german, but you may enjoy the scene anyhow 😉

I really like who she tries on the oxygen mask with the attached tank. That gear reminded me of a certain co-pilot Angelo who kidnapped a Vulcan Bomber in Thunderball. 😉

And it must be quite the experience to make such a jump, especially from such an altitude!

And I envy the guy who is responsible for her safety and makes the jump with her 😉
