The Deepest Breath – Netflix documentary movie [Reco]

Yesterday I watched a new Netflix documentary movie.

Official synopsis (with some spoilers):

Descending to remarkable depths below the sea on one single breath, Alessia Zecchini enters what she describes as the last quiet place on Earth. The Italian champion is determined to set a new world record in freediving, a dangerous extreme sport in which competitors attempt to reach the greatest depth without the use of scuba gear. Freedivers are often subject to blackouts upon ascent, necessitating the help of safety divers like Stephen Keenan, a free-spirited Irish adventurer who fell in love with the sport in Dahab, Egypt. Having formed a special bond on the freediving circuit, Alessia and Stephen train together so she can make an attempt on Dahab’s legendary Blue Hole and its challenging 85-foot-long tunnel 184 feet below the Red Sea. Their fates are inextricably bound together by a tragic event that ensues.

I didn’t know anything about these two and was totally surprised by the storyline and the ending.

The documentary is very interesting and quite moving… wasn’t expecting that.

And it has plenty of women in sexy smooth skin wetsuits 🙂

I highly recommend this one!

My Top 20 female action scuba scenes in one video – [Cliffhanger edition – TV/movies]

Most of you guys will have stumbled upon my “Hall of Fame” here by now.

I always wanted to make a video with all these scenes in it.

Last week I started the work on it and quickly realized that the video was going to get over 30 minutes long.

A pretty safe bet that the video wouldn’t stay for long on YouTube if it would be allowed at all.

Then I came up with the idea to make each segment from each scene much shorter and had the idea to make this cliffhanger edition/cut.

In this video, you will now find all my favorite 20 scenes. The order in the video is the order they are listed on my Hall of Fame page, which is in no particular order.

The number at the bottom is the listed number of the Hall of Fame.

In there, you will find the full version of each scene in case you wanna know how the scene actually ends 😉

I guess that most of you guys know most of the scenes already… but it’s a treat to have them all in one video.

The picture quality of each segment depends on the available source material.

Frogwomen Kara and Demi in “Scuba Spy 3” – (Deadly) – [24th video of Project F – 3rd video shoot]

So, it’s time for the seventh video of the 3rd video shoot of “Project F”, the last one from that video shoot.

In this video, Agent Kara is taking pictures of a secret underwater base of Spectre (#some imagination required) and gets attacked by an evil frogwoman…

….and only ONE of them will survive!

Background info:

This one is a good example of how much I want and do not want to show here. I mentioned above that only one of them would survive the fight.

It would be certainly good for promo reasons to include a picture of the ending here.

But at the same time, I don’t want to fully spoil it by showing that… as you then would know who will win the fight.

So, I chose the middle way… maybe I will use a picture of the ending in a week or two, but not now.

This video was more difficult to make than the previous ones, we had a script and reshoot some scenes, especially the final one.

That also made the editing more complicated in comparison as well…. for some scenes.

In the end, I’m happy with the result! I made some notes on things that can be improved in the future.

The GoPro I use for filming is doing a good job… but it has one aspect that can be problematic:

As the camera is tiny… the screen is tiny as well, and that makes it pretty hard to see all the details especially while filming underwater.

Kara and Demi did a fine job, especially considering how little scuba experience they have/had and that this scenario was quite challenging.

As a BONUS for you guys, I decided to also include a BONUS version with a lot of awesome music from Thunderball!

I hope you folks like that version as well and appreciate the effort, if not… just watch the “normal” version 😉

Now a minor spoiler, so don’t continue unless you have seen the video!

In the end scene, the regulator wasn’t supposed to exhaust bubbles, even as we repeated the scene several times it always did… so just ignore these bubbles 😉

We could have closed the valve for the scene… but that was a little too risky as both had very little scuba experience.

After all, you get all those Project F videos each month + additional content for just 12 euros (or even less per month if you get into the VIP club for more than one month).

I would say that is quite a bargain!

Also, I do hope that the amount of VIP club members will be higher with the current price as it would be with a higher price.

The rotation periods for each video will get a little longer though. When a video leaves the VIP club it will be out for at least 4 months.

But still, there will be 5-6 Project F videos in it each month.

The complete “Eye of the Storm” TV show can now be found on Youtube!!!

I was looking for this TV show a loooooong time and now you can watch the complete show on Youtube!

Thanks to the great guy who contacted me about it!

I’m talking about “Eye of the Storm” a UK TV show for kids from 1993.

The show has only 6 episodes with about 25 minutes each.

So, what can possibly be interesting about a kids TV show?

Well, 2 brilliant scuba peril scenes!

Yeah, the picture quality is still not good, but I guess that is the best we might ever get.

I have now watched all the episodes and finally know the whole storyline.

Yeah, the show is for kids and the plan of the villainess is really… odd but still, this show is just fantastic!

Maybe the darkest TV show for kids I ever saw. #howtotraumatizechildren

I mean the whole show has only the length of one long movie, but still, Nell (played by Cordelia Bugeja) gets attacked TWICE while scuba diving!

The same evil guy tries to drown her twice! (and gets killed in the process)

Are there any other TV shows or movies that also have that? I doubt it….

Besides the two scuba peril scenes, there is only little in regard to scuba diving, but some scenes of her in wetsuit can be found in the episodes.

There are some scenes where she talks to her father (played by famous actor Bill Nighy!) about the first attack as the evil diver slices her air hose. Very interesting 🙂

At first, he won’t believe her and suggest that her air hose was cut by some rocks in the cave…

Here they all use the term “air line” which I actually never had heard before.

I guess that was used in the past and didn’t make it to the present times, maybe as you could confuse that easily with “airline” 😉

The dad, who actually is a diver as well, lets her teenage daughter dive alone in the whole show. He is never diving with her… quite bizarre when you see it from today’s perspective.

But this way we get the two fantastic scuba peril scenes as she faces the evil diver by herself.

The show has only the evilest cliffhangers as they simply end an episode twice in the middle of her being attacked in that cave.

Luckily that isn’t a problem when the whole show is available 🙂

Our frogwoman attacks the villain! – Deep Gold, Scene 4

Time for one last scene from the movie… scene 4 of this epic scuba flick!

Actually, this scene doesn’t have a scuba scene… but our heroine is still in her latex suit and has a “drowning battle” with the bad guy!

The guy was lucky that the flame of his lighter was suddenly out again before the fuel was all over him 😉

And the cheap CGI helicopter looks pretty bad…

But what is important is that we have a bunch of scenes with our heroine in that latex suit running around on that yacht!

And of course, that villain/director/producer has an underwater scene with her so he can fight with her…. #naughty

She looks great in that suit and the drowning scene is really nice, even though it was no surprise that she… with her freediving skills… could easily outlast him and he would drown before her.

Luckily for her, she gets rescued before she would drown herself as well (there is another scene with her after this one).

Her friend even overcomes her diving trauma (flashback) that was mentioned earlier in the movie.

There is more footage of our latex heroine as she finishes off a henchman on the yacht quite brutally… but the video would have gotten too long then, and too brutal for Youtube as well.

Anyhow this movie should be in every collection of someone who likes female scuba scenes… so you should consider getting the Bluray, even though is quite difficult nowadays.

Female scuba diver trapped in wreck! Can she be saved?

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for a new post!

This one is from a TV show that airs its 7944th(!) episode tomorrow and that is on air since 1988!

With that many episodes, it can only mean one thing: It’s a daily soap …an Australian daily sop to be more precise.

And you can’t have an Australian TV show with that many episodes without some scuba scenes 😉

Well, quite a good scuba peril scenario with some unusual aspects.

She gets trapped with 80 bar left which is unusually “much” for such a perilous scenario in a movie or TV show. I mean that is still 40% of her normal tank capacity which is 200 bar (mostly).

Normally scuba divers get trapped and have only some minutes of air left 😉

Also, it’s interesting that the diver with the full tank just arrives some seconds too late, rather unusual.

I mean ok, in the end, she seemingly survives ….as I have checked just one more episode where she is in the hospital…. so he was quick enough for her to survive. And well, her guy would have drowned as well, since his tank was empty as well.

It’s a shame that it’s only shown how she reacts as her tank is finally completely empty, but her actual drowning isn’t shown and she then floats on the ceiling, even that discovery is quite dramatic as well.

All in all a really good “trapped underwater” scenario.

So, it’s time for the fifth video of the 2nd video shoot of “Project F”!

As mentioned in the previous posts the videos from that shoot will be pretty short, but action-packed as we tried some simple action scenarios.

Frogwoman Kara is taking pictures of some secret stuff, but frogwoman Lucy isn’t too happy about it!

That leads to a scuba fight… 😉

Background info:

This is the second video with the “scuba spy” scenario (the first one is video 12).

In this version, Frogwoman Kara is holding onto her Camera with the precious images she just shot. Of course, that is a rather big handicap for her as she can only use one arm/hand to defend herself against the attacker.

I guess in a long, scripted version of this scenario she should have some kind of bag/pocket to stash it away or at least have it tied to her wrist with a tiny rope.

Or she could just let it float to the bottom, for that the camera would need some weights, as it floats to the surface… as you can see in video 12.

Frogwoman Lucy really seems to enjoy yanking at other divers regulators 😉

This video has a very short alternative ending at the end.
