A female scuba diver trapped underwater [A new dive movie you MUST see!]

Remember this movie/ blog post?

https://frogwoman.org/breaking-surface-my-review-2-videos-and-much-more

Well, that Swedish/Norwegian movie was made in 2020 and filmed in Norway.

And now, just 3 years later, we have a German(!) remake that was filmed in Malta.

As a German, I am always happy when there is a new German movie that isn’t a crime movie, drama, or a comedy… because it feels like 99% fit in these genres ๐Ÿ˜†

Quite odd that there is a remake just 3 years later, but I guess since “Breaking Surface” wasn’t filmed in English… maybe they thought that this new movie, which was filmed in English …has a better chance of making money?

If you have seen “Breaking Surface” (what you should have/do!) then you know practically the whole storyline of this new movie as well.

The remake is mostly verrrry close to the original.

So, is there any point in watching the new one when you have seen the old one?

Yes, quite a few!

The main differences are:

– 2 new actresses (obviously)

– The cold water (Norway) scenario was now swapped with warm water (Malta/Mediterranean)

– The dive gear is now different:

Breaking Surface has drysuits and Ocean Reef FFMs while the new one has normal wetsuits and FFMs where you can see the full face (brand?)

– Some minor story changes incl. (even) less backstory in this one

But enough text for now…..

(You have to watch the video directly on YouTube this time, embedding it here wasn’t allowed)

I thought the video would be completely blocked on YouTube but it was “only” blocked in a handful of countries.

But over 90% of you guys should be able to see it.

Maybe I will add a Google Drive link later on… if that seems necessary.

Well, most of all I am intrigued by the fantastic breathing sounds in this scene!!!

Wow, they had either a great UW mic for that and/or did an awesome post-production job!

I guess I never heard how a scuba tank was sucked completely empty…that clearly.

Also, the whole mask switching scenes are also very exciting/thrilling as well.

The movie itself has around 90 minutes (nearly 10 minutes longer than the original) and the majority of that time is spent underwater.

For that aspect alone you should watch the whole thing!

And then you have all the scuba peril elements in it… ๐Ÿ™‚

Perhaps I will post another scene from this one. But as the movie has so much UW time, it will always be pretty incomplete.

The story remains the same as in the original: Two sisters go diving, one of them gets trapped underwater and the other one needs to rescue her in time.

I wonder if there will be a US remake in another few years from now on.

I wouldn’t mind a remake set in the ’60s with some vintage rubber wetsuits and double hose regulators…

A sneaky female diver attacks our frogwoman! – Deep Gold, Scene 2

Time for scene 2 of this epic scuba flick!

And now we are getting to the first part of THE main scuba scene of the movie!

The heroine of the movie, now dressed in a latex(!!!) suit is going on a dive with another woman who has special instructions ๐Ÿ˜‰

Preview:

And here is the video:

If you see all the scuba scenes in this movie and that latex catsuit the heroine is wearing…. well, I am sure the director of this movie Michael Gleissner has a fetish or two ๐Ÿ˜‰

He also is one of the producers, the main writer of the movie and also is the villain in it! (the guy standing on the boat at the beginning of this video)

I mean why would the woman wear such a latex suit (which isn’t fitting very well) for a scuba dive? Well, either her character in the movie has a special taste or the director/producer ๐Ÿ˜‰

My bet is on the director/producer!

Also, we get quite a lot of scuba peril scenes in this one…. so, I think that the director and myself have some things in common.

Clothing aside this first part of that scuba action scene is great! There are VERY few scenes where the air hose of a female scuba diver gets cut and even fewer scenes where a female scuba diver is the attacker! I love it ๐Ÿ™‚

The sound and the visuals of her sliced hose spewing bubbles… is quite something!

The fact that she traps her in the plane is a bonus aspect as well.

Of course, the heroine won’t die like this in the middle of the movie (it’s not Psycho (the movie)) so, she can survive with that air pocket and her freediving skills.

Next week I will post the second part where our heroine takes revenge on her sneaky attacker….

A woman, a flooded tank, aliens, and an oxygen mask!

Today I wanna present an old classic that somehow wasn’t posted here on the blog.

In this one, we have a woman in a strange wetsuit/catsuit awaking in a flooded tank, with an alien observing her! And she is wearing a pretty unique oxygen mask ๐Ÿ™‚

Preview:

And here is the video:

Well, quite a unique scene!

Unfortunately, I don’t know the exact background story as I never watched this TV show, but perhaps someone can help with that!

However, I think it’s a nice and (too) short scene with quite a cool oxygen mask!

An interesting design that was most likely created for this show…#scifylook

The mask looks like they embedded a regulator in the lower part of the mask, but that is only my guess.

Damn, I wish she would have worn that mask for a longer period than in these short scenes.

Not sure what the aliens planned here but in my version they may have experimented with her oxygen supply to see how much oxygen a human needs ๐Ÿ˜‰

The unmasking is a nice bonus since she doesn’t appear in that episode beforehand…. a nice reveal!

The suit she is wearing is also quite sexy! Hard to 100% say if that is some sort of modified wetsuit or a “catsuit” that just gets wet.

All in all a good scene for me.

A frogwoman wants to sabotage a Yacht – Deep Gold, Scene 1

After my old Youtube channel was killed about one year ago I had to re-upload all the videos to the new channel and had to edit hundreds of blog posts here.

Basically, I finished that in the first part of last year, but a handful of blog posts are still left that need a proper video and text.

Deep Gold is one of my all-time favorite scuba movies and for that, I wanna present each interesting scuba scene with a blog post in the next weeks.

And then I will …finally ….also update the links in the Hall of Fame section to this movie.

That movie has a LOT to offer and I actually have the 3D Blu-ray in my collection.

The 3D isn’t really good here, but it looks (even) better than in 2D ๐Ÿ˜‰

And right now, even the 2D Blu-ray isn’t available on US Amazon anymore.

Here in the blog post, 2D will have to suffice… and don’t worry, these scenes are very special.

So, let’s start with the first scene!

Preview:

And here is the video:

…. and that was only a moderate entry as the first scuba scene. MUCH more to follow ๐Ÿ˜‰

This first scene is a nice short scuba peril scene for starters. Not often do you see a female scuba diver sabotaging another boat/yacht.

And I kind of like that she gets entangled in her own net. Not a good place to be when the yacht is about to start moving ๐Ÿ˜‰

In this scene she has a rather “normal” scuba outfit on… in comparison to later when the naughty producer (of this movie) puts her in a totally unusual, sexy/bizarre scuba outfit ๐Ÿ˜†

Also, a nice aspect here is that we have this couple who speak German and won’t get dubbed or subbed for some reason.

Maybe the German producer of this movie just wanted some lines of German in the movie? Hard to say….

I will post the next scene next week and then is get even more interesting ๐Ÿ˜‰

A frogman with a really sinister plan to kill another diver! [Blog exclusive]

[2nd post for today]

There won’t be a female diver in this one… BUT… before you leave… it is a rather fantastic scuba fight/peril scene that you will see here.

And I am verrrry sure that most people will find it pretty interesting ๐Ÿ˜‰

A male police diver is searching for evidence, but the evil scuba killer has special plans for him….

And here is the video:

Video

I placed it on google Drive as the video is very long (nearly 10 minutes) and it wouldn’t “fit” into my Youtube channel anyway

Sorry, for the temporary visible ADs in the upper right corner. Someone recommended me a site where this movie can be found and it was difficult…

Hopefully, there will be a better-quality file available someday, but the movie is hard to find as it is a French TV movie.

For me, this scene has basically just one major flaw… that no frogWOman is involved ๐Ÿ˜‰

The killer and his evil plan are quite unique. Knocking him out, tieing him up, and cutting his air hose? Quite a combo!

Also, the police diver and his twin tanks are a rather rare combo as well.

I don’t fully get how his tanks and his air hoses are connected and I don’t know much about the connections with a twin-tank setup.

The bad guy slices the air hose of the hero without an instant effect. The hero just swaps his regulator and closes one valve to stop the air leak.

Does he then only gets air from one of his tanks? In that case, the bad guy would have significantly reduced the air reserves of the hero.

The second possibility I see is that his second regulator is connected to another valve. In that case… slicing the air hose… would basically have no effect at all.

Certainly, the bad guy had some fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

I mean he came up with a rather perilous plan, he could have just stabbed the hero from behind after the sneaky knockout blow… but he had a more sinister plan.

The “stuck underwater” scenario somehow reminds me of a certain pilot in a Bond movie… but he was equipped much worse than this diver.

At first, I wondered why the evil diver instantly left. I mean he could have watched him drown, but ok, that would have been a risk as it was possible that more divers could have shown up.

The good guy was really lucky that his partner found him and called for backup.

In my version of the story at least one of these divers would have been a woman. Imagine a villainess completely in black attacking the hot female police diver ๐Ÿ˜‰

Female scuba diver trapped in wreck! Can she be saved?

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for a new post!

This one is from a TV show that airs its 7944th(!) episode tomorrow and that is on air since 1988!

With that many episodes, it can only mean one thing: It’s a daily soap …an Australian daily sop to be more precise.

And you can’t have an Australian TV show with that many episodes without some scuba scenes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Preview:

Here is the video:

Watch the video before you continue!

Well, quite a good scuba peril scenario with some unusual aspects.

She gets trapped with 80 bar left which is unusually “much” for such a perilous scenario in a movie or TV show. I mean that is still 40% of her normal tank capacity which is 200 bar (mostly).

Normally scuba divers get trapped and have only some minutes of air left ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, it’s interesting that the diver with the full tank just arrives some seconds too late, rather unusual.

I mean ok, in the end, she seemingly survives ….as I have checked just one more episode where she is in the hospital…. so he was quick enough for her to survive. And well, her guy would have drowned as well, since his tank was empty as well.

It’s a shame that it’s only shown how she reacts as her tank is finally completely empty, but her actual drowning isn’t shown and she then floats on the ceiling, even that discovery is quite dramatic as well.

All in all a really good “trapped underwater” scenario.

The episode numbers for this video are 1145 and 1146… of this show in case you wanna know:

An Italian vintage frogwoman with an early rebreather

I know this scene for a long time already.

But I only had a pretty bad copy (worse than DVD) that was black and white.

Now this movie was restored to MUCH better quality as it now has Blu-ray quality… and also got colorized!

Quite a gigantic quality upgrade. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, I wanna present the most interesting scene from this movie today.

And here is the video:

Ok, I don’t speak Italian but have seen subtitles for this scene….so let me give you some backstory to this scene.

She asks the guy if she could try on the FFM (does someone know the type/model?).

As he leaves he asks to take it off again…he is in a hurry as he says.

Well, as you can see she ignores that and goes diving.

He later mention to another guy that the system he gave to her was nearly empty as he was diving with it prior to giving it to her.

In the end, her father is really angry about her being that reckless while only one of the guys takes her side and defends her.

I guess this may be one of the earliest female scuba peril scenes in existence as this movie was made in 1953!

The scenario is rather cliche and classic as she is very reckless and also gets trapped in that net.

Sadly it is not shown how she gets entangled in the net in the first place.

But I really love the scuba gear! A FFM with a single corrugated air hose… very sexy! Would love to see a scuba fight with a frogwoman equipped like that ๐Ÿ™‚

Also interesting that there is a valve on that mask to switch from snorkel to rebreather (as the guy explains to her).

Really happy that this scene can now be watched in such a picture quality ๐Ÿ™‚

And that frogwoman is no other than Sophia Loren!

Quite a sight… ๐Ÿ™‚

Female diver gets stuck in net! [Upgrade post, longer cut + better quality]

This is another classic that deserved an UPGRADE, and now it’s finally time!

We have a classic “female scuba diver gets trapped in net” scene ๐Ÿ™‚

Preview:

And here is the video:

Initially, I planned on releasing a 10-minute long cut with subtitles. But for some reason, the subtitles didn’t show up in the final file.

So I decided to put up the shorter peril cut as the main video.

You will find the longer video below (without the subtitles).

But back to the scene:

A classic, cliche “frogwoman clumsily dives into a net with very little air left” scenario.

The breathing sounds are pretty loud and done quite well, I am pretty sure they recorded them afterward and included them in the movie.

A pretty sexy result…in my opinion.

She was initially diving with a guy (which you can see in the longer cut) and they both screwed it up in my opinion. He got on the boat again without waiting for her… and she just stopped and decided to go diving on her own. And for some reason she didn’t have a knife… which could have been quite useful here ๐Ÿ˜‰

Even she most likely would have lost it in this cliche scenario… while trying to escape.

Her scuba gear is ok, but I rather hate these old inflatable vests as they totally obscure the … view…

Here is the much longer version of the scene with before and after surface shots (not on my public Youtube channel):

In case you don’t speak Dutch … he basically blames her and tells her all the mistakes she made underwater. Nothing of big interest.

In the mid of next week, I will make a post about a very unusual scuba fight from the same TV show.

Sadly without women… but a very interesting scuba fight nonetheless.

Wanna know from which TV show this is?

IMDB lists 13 episodes, to my knowledge the show has 6 episodes!?!

Seemingly the show was televised with different long episodes/formats (my guess).

This scene is in episode 5 of 6.

The frogwoman who got trapped under a buoy

[1st post for today]

That’s quite difficult to do …. but this vintage frogwoman did get trapped under a buoy ๐Ÿ˜‰

Time for a new video outside “Project F”.

In this one, we go back to the 60s to a TV show with a friendly dolphin.

Preview:

And here is the video:

The first version of the video was a little over 6 minutes but it was blocked in most countries. I edited the video down to slightly under 4 minutes and that was then seemingly ok for Youtube.

Yeah, I don’t get how she managed to get trapped under that thing but ok. ๐Ÿ˜†

And normally she should be able to get out…or would have some serious injuries, but seemingly she doesn’t have a scratch.

Yeah, it’s a TV show for kids…

But it’s a nice peril scene in vintage gear even I would have preferred her wearing a rubber wetsuit as that would have fit to the 60s perfectly.

I am not a fan of these bathing caps, but I know that some are.

All in all a solid scene.

The scene and the end is pretty funny…
