A woman, a guy, oxygen masks…. and a dangerous Paris

Somehow I forgot to post about this one…

I rewatched this movie this week, and now it’s time to correct that mistake!

That movie has a lot of scenes with oxygen masks since Paris is plagued by that deadly smoke for 90% of the movie, which is limited to a certain height for most of the time.

Sadly, the guy has most of the good peril scenes. His air hose gets burned, and he fights with a guy over an oxygen mask.

And yeah, I know… SCBA would be (more) correct, but in the end… it’s a mask that delivers oxygen.

Olga Kurylenko, who is a recurring actress in both of my blogs… has another perilous scene as well.

But she isn’t wearing a breathing device (of any kind) in that.  Although she has to hold her breath, it doesn’t fully qualify for this site.

I recommend that you watch the whole thing 😉

The scene with the fire wall that smashes them against the wall is quite… interesting.

A bit weird that his hose catches fire from that second… but ok, that may be possible.

It’s also weird how long their (mostly) tiny tanks last… but ok… #movie-magic

It is a good peril scene when she runs with that mask until the tank is fully empty.

In my version, she would have kept the mask on until she reached the zone with the smoke… but I can understand that they wanna show her face as much as possible.

Would have been great if someone had fought with her about her mask at any point… but no luck.

Nonetheless… a solid movie… with LOTS of scenes with oxygen masks 🙂

Ok, on the one hand, this scene does frustrate me quite a bit.

You have bad guys, and you have 2 frogwomen. One has a spear gun. And she manages to shoot herself with it??? Argh!

No scuba fight, but an accident? Damn!

But ok, at least it’s a rather unusual scenario, as that doesn’t happen often in the movies!

I mean, how many movies do you know in which a female scuba diver gets hit by a spear? That can’t be more than 2 or 3 😉

Anyway, a good peril scene with interesting gear (except the damn BCDs).

I will make at least one more post for this movie.

My favorite scene is still to come 😉

Yeah, the setting is quite familiar and has been used in several new movies.

But some women in a shark cage, let them run out of air, and mix in some drug lord and his henchmen.

What is new here are the sexy smoothskin wetsuits they use. Sadly, they use these damn BCDs, but yeah… I know… they are standard, and everybody uses them.

But there are reasons why I don’t use them in my Project F videos 😉

Here in this part, they don’t run into much peril, but don’t worry… they will…

I wonder how they could get Antonio Banderas for this B movie… is he so desperate these days?

Or was he so bored that he just took the next role they offered him?

However, this movie is solid, and there are plenty of scuba scenes in it.

I will certainly get the Blu-ray for my collection.

I do like FFMs in general, even though there is a little too much plastic on those… for my taste.

And it’s quite important that the two can talk with each other, so… there isn’t much of a choice here in terms of scuba masks.

 

I will make 1 or 2 more blog posts with scenes from this movie.

Well, this is a scene where you hear a lot more than you see.

It makes sense, it’s very dark down there, and it would be nearly impossible to show such murderous jellyfish in close-ups attacking her/her suit.

Especially in a movie from in 98.

I wonder how her FFM flooded like that. Did the jellyfish attack the intake air hose?

Did they break the mask itself? 

It’s a bit odd, as I think there should be many more bubbles either way…

But ok, they have pretty advanced deep sea gear… don’t exactly know how that works, or what exactly happened to her in this scene.

However, a really perilous scene that is very frightening in its own way. 

By the way: The diver was played by Queen Latifah… as it was quite hard to see that in the video.

Here is one of them!

Well, I do know this movie since it came out. Watched it in 3D in the cinema, bought the blu-ray later on.

There is a scuba scene in it, and it even has Elizabeth Shue and Dina Meyer in it!

Two actresses that I really like… especially for some of their roles 😉

The scenes get a little …well… problematic towards the end, so I made a special YouTube edit.

The scene gets really nasty, so I can’t recommend watching the uncut version, but of course you can do that…

But I don’t think many enjoy the end of Dina Meyer’s character in this scene.

she tries to ascend, but the piranhas attack her legs first, and when she is on the surface… there isn’t much left of her…. very graphic.

In this case, I don’t mind the cut version, as it is sooo nasty.

It’s a shame we don’t see more of Dina on the boat before the dive.

The dive scene is quite dark, and I adjusted the video slightly to make it a bit brighter.

The gear they are using is really cool. I like to see her in that FFM.

Would have been cool to have this scene in another movie where they run into some other problems as flesh-easting fish.

A shame the fish aren’t trained to go for air hoses instead 😆 … that would have been an even better scene 😉

I cut out some scenes where the military is observing her with a drone (like you see at the very end), so the video wouldn’t get too long.

But basically, the creature is in peril and thinks the military guys wanna harm it and creates a massive wave.

The wave is racing towards the boat but dies down before it hits it, as the alien wants to spare the old guy (I guess).

She ascends because she (rightfully)  thinks he is in trouble.

These are just my assumptions. Haven’t seen the whole thing and my French from school is quite …rusty.

She is lucky to be alive as she smashed against that rocks. The bleeding looked quite bad at first, but she was ok in the end.

Quite an unusual scuba peril scene for sure!

And as I said before… I like her FFM, looks really good 🙂

In this one, we have 1 female diver in an FFM in one spot, and a female and male diver at another diving spot.

And we have a bomb, scuba peril, and some mysterious elements in it as well…

I made some cuts (surface scenes) so the video wouldn’t get so long. Hopefully, it will stay up on YouTube.

Yeah, I do like her Oceanreef FFM, quite a stylish mask…for my taste.

A shame there isn’t more action with her as long she is wearing it.

But don’t worry, I will post another scene with her in 2 weeks 😉

The light does come from some alien creature(!) and somehow the presence of the creature detonated that World War bomb for some reason… as far I understood it.

The whole TV show is only available in French (so far) and I didn’t watch the whole thing.

The guy gets killed by the explosion and the woman does survive and looks pretty “well” for such a blast and “only” needed some Hasselhoffing… aka reviving 😉

Perhaps the alien prevented her death? I can only guess here….

The alien creature also seems responsible for the weird bubbles… that went sideways instead of to the surface.

All in all some nice scenes!

As mentioned… I will make one more post about this TV show in 2 weeks.

Background info:

This is Frogwoman Eva’s debut in the Project F series.

She already has an incredible experience with scuba diving even at her young age.

She didn’t have any experience with the OTS Guardian FFM, but she quickly adapted to it as well.

You will see that frogwoman Rachel is using a certain special breathing apparatus that you should know…. 😉

Yeah, it’s a 3D-printed version of the one that Sean Connery (and his stunt double) used in Thunderball!

Spoiler alert: Much like the original… it isn’t actually working, but here in the scenario it certainly does!

So… Rachel is actually freediving while using it during the video shoot.

That meant that she had to return to the surface whenever her lungs were empty.

As it wasn’t used in video shoot 5… I finally wanted to build it into a video.

In combination with the red wetsuit, I wanted to have some… Jane Bond vibes 😉

Some day in the future I wanna have a full “Jane Bond VS Emilia Largo” fight… but I need some more gear and gadgets for that.

This video shoot was made at the end of the first “shift” and time was very limited due to some problems we had encountered earlier (new shift = (some) new frogwomen).

I wish there had been more time for this one, but at least I did some re-takes of the ending.

The video got a little shorter than anticipated, but that way you get to see 2 alternative takes of the ending… and I am sure that you will like those as well!

Why are my videos not on sites like Clip4sale?

Well, Clip4sale are a bunch of cutthroats that want 40%(!) of each video that you sell.

Yes, they offer those videos to a wide audience, but I don’t wanna give someone 40% for “just” providing the platform to sell the videos.

Also, that would mean that YOU would have to pay a lot more to get the videos…

I guess I could have made more money if my videos were on Clip4sale… but well, I won’t do it.

I will check out other sites like Vimeo though, if that would be an option or not.

The future of Project F?

I will release a new video from this video shoot every 2 weeks until 2024 is finished (this one today, and then 2 each month until the end of 2024)

I have at least 9 videos in total that will be released from this video shoot, so the rest of the year is covered with new releases 🙂

Maybe a good idea to now get a 6 month VIP club membership to get all those new videos (plus nearly every earlier release) 😉

Early in 2025, I wanna have the next video shoot in that (deep) pool and then a lake video shoot in the summer (finally!!!).

So, there will be many more new videos for the VIP club for sure!

Frogwomen Alice and Meg in “FFM testing” – [38th video of Project F – 6th video shoot]

So, it’s time for the next “Project F” video of the last video shoot from last month!

This is video 38, the second from the 6th video shoot.

In this video, frogwomen Alice and Meg are testing the OTS Guardian full-face mask!

They both take the mask off underwater to put it back on to clear it. Also, the surface valve gets tested underwater.

Background info:

This is Frogwoman Meg’s debut in the Project F series.

Due to special circumstances, she and Alice were sharing the role of the safety diver during that video shoot, and also appeared in some videos in front of the camera as you can see here.

Meg has a LOT of professional scuba experience from dives all over the world, and she did a great job here in front of the camera as well.

I wasn’t even in the pool when this was filmed, as both 2 teams with 2 frogwomen were using both of my cameras to make 2 videos.

It was a little improvised as I wanted to make up for the time that was lost before with some equipment issues.

The plan was that Alice would film Meg.

But Meg had some problems with the equalizing in this FFM, which can be tricky. There is a removable/swappable part in the mask to pinch your nose… depending on your nose/face size.

It wasn’t fitting for Meg, so they improvised and swapped roles to save time.

But not before Meg took off the mask underwater and put it back on.

Regarding the audio issues I mentioned above, I don’t have the slightest idea of why there is no recorded audio in that one part.

It’s insanely easy to work with the camera, one button starts the camera and the recording, and also ends it. That button was used… as always.

But ok, it happened with only one clip, so that’s not so bad. Maybe a gremlin was in the camera 😉

Both frogwomen can be seen unmasked here underwater as they take off their masks to put it back on underwater.

Meg also tested the surface valve of the FFM underwater as she opened it. You see the result in the video.

Frogwoman Alice is wearing her own fins in this one.
