No scuba content today, but we have a female astronaut in combination with a shower hose.
An interesting idea for sure…
I stumbled upon this one and noticed it features space content and Eiza Gonzalez, so I got curious and watched it some months back.

Ok, the suit is a pretty crazy design, but well… unique.
And why there is a shower hose that isn’t connected to anything and how it can be plugged into the helmet… hard to say π
But… I do love the general idea!
I certainly have never seen a scene where an “astronaut” gets drowned.
And the idea that she would use the astronaut’s helmet against her (by flooding it) is pretty cool.
A device that should actually keep her alive is killing her, a bit like the crew in Thunderball who got killed by their oxygen masks (and the deadly gas in them).
It’s rather uncool that the scene is edited so very hectic… and that you practically can’t see the astronaut’s face anymore after the hose gets plugged in.
But all in all, a pretty cool scene that is unique in its way.
The whole movie has some scenes with Eiza Gonzalez in that suit as well, but no real peril in those scenes… at least not oxygen-related.
So, the preparations are underway to have a video shoot in the first half of September.
For the first time, we will shoot in a lake.
Of course, the big problem might be… the weather. But my expectations towards it aren’t that high.
It would be great if we had something like 20-25 degrees and no rain, that would be awesome.
But I can make compromises to a certain degree. Unless it’s raining all day… for example.
And I am curious to see if all the disadvantages of such a lake shooting (visibility, privacy, weather?, comfort, water temperature) will be worth the one BIG advantage it has:
The setting! Of course, such a lake should provide a much cooler background than any pool, well ….if there is enough visibility .
If the visibility is at least around 2-3 meters, it would be ok for me.
Yeah, the famous dive site of Lake Hemmoor, for example, isn’t far away and has insane visibility (up to 30-40 meters) and depth.
But there are way too many dive groups there that any filming of a (simulated) peril or fight scene might get you into a LOT of trouble. #misunderstandings #rescueeffort
And I don’t wanna go too deep anyway, as it just gets more dangerous (and colder).
The lake we will (most likely) use has more than “enough” depth.
The water temperature in the lake will be lower than in the pool, so we won’t use any of the thinnest suits (1 / 1,5 mm) that I have.
I have 3 5mm suits by now, and a lot of 3/3,5mm suits.
I gathered some additional equipment for such a lake shoot, and I am looking forward to it!
I’m looking for this movie for ages already and never seen the whole thing as it isn’t available anywhere… to my knowledge.
It’s another obscure TV movie, this time from 1980. This also has under 50 votes on IMDB.
Another one that I had for a long timeβ¦ now itβs time to make a post. Thanks to J.

Well, since the movie is so rare… I uploaded the entire clip of over 9 minutes that I have. I guess that shouldn’t be a problem on YouTube in this case, but we will see.
I don’t know if there are any other (female) scuba scenes in the movie, besides this video I’ve only ever seen the first 15 minutes of the movie… no scuba there.
I guess there should be at least some surface footage of her in the wetsuit.
Perhaps one day I will get the chance to watch the whole thing.
But now to this video: I do like it as it is quite a long scene, and a rather unusual one.
She goes in first, which is very remarkable in 1980…
I guess she is some sort of expert and therefore goes into the submarine.
Her tank is especially gigantic in comparison to her size π … but I get it… she needs a lot of air for the dive and for running around in the sub.
I think the sub crashed and the crew suffocated at some point.
It’s a Russian sub, and that would actually make a great background story for a big scuba fight!
I mean, the Russians would want to get into the sub as well… and then you could have a nice big scuba fight outside to sub π
Of course, including a bunch of russian frogwomen in black rubber and double hose regulators π
But ok, it’s a TV movie, and I am already surprised they got the budget for all these scenes here.
Time for some vintage scuba scenes from director legend Roger Corman!
In this one, we have a hot couple and a crab (or crap) monster!
Another one that I had for a long time… now it’s time to make a post. Thanks to J.

Yeah, sadly no (real) underwater peril… but certainly cool scuba gear and a frogwoman that fits Roger Corman’s taste… π #DD
I’m not a fan of those bathing caps, but I know there are folks out there who like them.
Sure, it would look better in color, but it’s a cheap horror flick from 1957, so… all good.
A shame there wasn’t the stereotypical “save the damsel in distress” scene.
In my version, the crab would have “accidentally” sliced her intake air hose… just in the nick of time, she would have been saved by buddy breathing with the guy.
So, time for some scuba scenes from a TV show that the world has totally forgotten about. (less than 50 ratings on IMDB)
I have had 2 videos for quite a while⦠thanks to a nice guy! So, I checked for another source and found one.
So, time to share it with you guys!

Nothing exactly spectacular in my opinion… but two nice scenes!
She certainly looks great in both outfits π
The peril scene is quite weird π
So, there are big chunks of air escaping from the underwater shaft…
That leads to her unconsciousness? But she is still talking over her special comms equipment…
Does that mean she then supposedly “drowns” afterward in a bunch of seconds?
But you see her kicking her fins underwater as she ascends… and she still has a regulator in her mouth as she surfaces! Not the one she was using some seconds ago… but ok… π
Yeah, quite odd… but I guess the producers liked the idea of a nice scene with a hot damsel in distress who needs to be rescued π
