The video shoot last Sunday…

….well… let me start with the bad things:

The weather was quite bad, as the sun didn’t come out for even one minute.

Why is that important when I shoot in a swimming pool inside a building? Well, it highly affects the lighting! (no underwater lights in that pool)

I was thinking about getting new cameras for this video shoot, but I set other priorities in terms of new gear…. unfortunately.

You might remember the very first video shoot I had in that house.

Well, this time I had a light (even a new one), but still… the lighting in the building wasn’t sufficient for my old(er) GoPros.

I realized that now as I checked the footage.

It doesn’t affect the first meters (due to the light) but the background to a degree.

It’s not nearly as bad as in the footage from the first video shoot, but certainly not optimal.

For the next video shoot, I will get 2 new cameras that can also deal with such conditions much better.

Also, there were some troublesome gear malfunctions.

One wetsuit ripped ….in a precarious area… and couldn’t be used afterwards. Hopefully I can fix it (or someone else)

The new Aqualung Mistral double-hose regulator became increasingly troublesome as the shoot went on…. even though it was serviced in the weeks before the shoot 🙁

My beloved (and troublesome) Technisub vintage FFM wasn’t working as planned and even got damaged in the process… so it couldn’t be used at all.

All the malfunctions were annoying and time-consuming.

Also, some guy showed up with a bunch of swimmers, as he (seemingly) thought he had one lane booked on that Sunday, as usual.

Reluctantly, I agreed that they could stay for those 2 hours and got some cash for it.

Another distraction, but ok. You will see some of those swimmers in a video or two (in the background).

I certainly didn’t have my best day and made some odd decisions as I had to improvise a lot… which isn’t exactly a strong point of mine.

However, enough of the things that went wrong!

In the end, I managed to film 8 new videos that will be released from November to February (2 per month).

You will see 6 different frogwomen (2 new ones) and …. 1 frogMAN! Yes, for the first time, a frogman will have an active role in my videos (in terms of scuba fights).

You will see one new cool wetsuit and the great “modern” Aqualung double hose regulator (“only” 20 years old and not 60 years).

The speargun will appear again, and my OTS Guardian FFM will be in several of those videos.

But enough spoilers for now… 😉

I am thankful that all the frogwomen showed up and no one got hurt (#knives #underwateraction).

They certainly did a fine job!

I will post more background info in the post of each video.
