… and this time, it will be in a LAKE!
So, the preparations are underway to have a video shoot in the first half of September.
For the first time, we will shoot in a lake.
Of course, the big problem might be… the weather. But my expectations towards it aren’t that high.
It would be great if we had something like 20-25 degrees and no rain, that would be awesome.
But I can make compromises to a certain degree. Unless it’s raining all day… for example.
And I am curious to see if all the disadvantages of such a lake shooting (visibility, privacy, weather?, comfort, water temperature) will be worth the one BIG advantage it has:
The setting! Of course, such a lake should provide a much cooler background than any pool, well ….if there is enough visibility .
If the visibility is at least around 2-3 meters, it would be ok for me.
Yeah, the famous dive site of Lake Hemmoor, for example, isn’t far away and has insane visibility (up to 30-40 meters) and depth.
But there are way too many dive groups there that any filming of a (simulated) peril or fight scene might get you into a LOT of trouble. #misunderstandings #rescueeffort
And I don’t wanna go too deep anyway, as it just gets more dangerous (and colder).
The lake we will (most likely) use has more than “enough” depth.
The water temperature in the lake will be lower than in the pool, so we won’t use any of the thinnest suits (1 / 1,5 mm) that I have.
I have 3 5mm suits by now, and a lot of 3/3,5mm suits.
I gathered some additional equipment for such a lake shoot, and I am looking forward to it!

Looking forward to this and understand there are many additional problems in a public lake. Wondering whether you might do a scuba peril scene with just one model who gets into trouble, such as a ‘deep entrapment and out of air’ situation. One single model means less expense through fewer safety divers needed, as opposed to having two or more models plus the requisite number of safety support ?
Cheers, DD
That certainly would be a possibility. Right now I am planning with 2 women in front of the camera for most videos.
But scenarios with just 1 or 3 women are also in planning.
This time all the women need to have a scuba certificate, as such a lake is much more “difficult” in comparison with a pool.
That exclude certain women from this shooting, but I think it’s good choice to do that.
Can you tell us the names of which of your female divers will be shooting at the lake please?
At the moment it seems like it will Rachel, Alice, Eva…. and maybe one newcomer.
Alice and Eva are scheduled as safety divers and will be behind or on front of the camera.
I hold my fists for the good weather and clear water.
Thanks 🙂
Looking forward to the results Siggi.
Thanks for continuing to supply us with great new scenes.
Thanks! 🙂
Yeah, looking forward to the next video shoot… hopefully the camera will get some good footage there as well 😉
