The sister in law [sabotaged scuba gear]

Always wanted to see the whole movie since I heard about the scuba scene in it.

Never found the movie so far….but I found a nice clip that I wanna share with you. No edits were needed.

2 frogwomen and a frogman dive together.

But soon one of them realizes that evil forces have sabotaged her scuba gear (tank)!

Sorry for the bad picture quality but this was the best I found so far. And it’s a rare TV movie from the 90’s so……

Still would love the see the movie to get the story!

Who are these people? Who wants to kill her….and WHY?

Why are all 3 of them diving alone each after a while?

Well, from this clip the guy would be my primary suspect as the other woman decides to help her.

But who knows without more info….

If you know a way to get the full movie, please let me know!

Quite a nice scene! Especially as her gear was sabotaged! Someone wanted her dead since her gauge isn’t showing that her tank is empty.

A little odd is the fact that she isn’t moving at all. If I would be out of air I would swim towards the rescuer who has spotted me but is still in some distance.

The movie title is already in the post title, but there are tons of movies with that title….so here is the link to the movie:

Flipper…and a frogwoman who has to dive too deep!

I checked all 4 seasons of the newer Flipper TV show by now and found quite a lot of good scenes. Some of them were even new to me πŸ™‚

So, in this one, a woman in a dry suit has to dive to defuse some missiles. And she has to dive very deep….and that is where the problems start!

[SPOILERS ahead, watch the video first!]

A pretty solid peril scene if you ask me!

I am not sure, but I guess she suffers from nitrogen narcosis as she dives way too deep.

But she had to get to these dangerous warheads.

Again, Flipper saves the day by offering his ride along services πŸ˜‰

Not the biggest fan of drysuits…but don’t worry this will be the last one you will see in this show.

3 frogwomen fighting for …..AIR! [Blog exclusive]

Thanks a lot for the friendly user who recommended me this short movie!

This one is rather….different but offers a lot in terms of scuba peril.

This is not my upload this time, I simply provide the link. Normally I edit some scenes together, but this wouldn’t make much sense in this case. πŸ˜‰

Story:

A family (incl. 2 hot daughters) arrives at a lake where they take a little diving trip.

As they emerge from the water….something is wrong….VERY wrong.

(don’t let yourself be scared off by that thumbnail image…the movie is really good actually!)

[SPOILERS ahead, watch the movie first!]

Ok, I admit this scenario isn’t completely new, have seen it in two movies so far actually…..BUT… this short movie handles it really well!

The horror gets real as the family members start to turn on each other. They know, the only air left to breathe is in their scuba tanks, so each of them only thinks of themself.

How can I survive just a little longer? Their most primitive survival instincts take over and they are willing to do everything to steal each other’s air supply.

I have to say…I really enjoyed seeing them fighting against each other like that. Especially as they try to steal each other regulators πŸ˜‰

Of course, it would have been nice to actually see them diving beforehand, but I guess the budget for this one was really limited.

I’m not too happy about the ending as the grandma “speared” the last survivor of that family. Somehow funny, but not exactly realistic to nail her against the wall like that….and I would have liked to see her fighting over the last air tanks against some other folks.

But ok, after all… they are all doomed anyway…

One problem I got with this one is that often the air on these tanks isn’t turned on …or the tank is empty even it isn’t supposed to be. Because quite often you don’t hear the normal “hissing” sounds that these regulators make above the surface.

What did you think about this movie?

Two frogwomen, a dolphin and a female freediver in trouble

I was reminded about this scene by a friendly user, thanks for that!

In this one, we have a reckless female freediver, two frogwomen in FFM’s, and a dolphin.

And here is the video:

Ok, I admit, the frogwomen are only supporting characters in this one.

It’s really odd how she manages to get tangled up like that but ok.

It’s odd how all divers are at 100 feet when she freedives to 400 feet…. as their equipment was ready for up to 300 feet.

It’s odd why the divers don’t do anything but wait for her.

I wish the two frogwomen would have rescued her instead of the guy and the dolphin. πŸ˜‰

But after all, it’s a nice underwater peril scene.

To my knowledge, it’s Season 4 Episode 5, not 10 as IMDB lists it. But the title is correct.

The female diver, the male diver and the deadly cave [Scuba peril – Hall of FAME]

I stumbled upon this one quite some time ago but never posted it due to the very bad picture quality (320*240).

Luckily I found an upgrade that has at least a solid picture quality, and that’s the best we will get as this is from a Brazilian TV show.

Story:

A stunning female diver goes on a dive with a guy (husband, squeeze?).

Soon she swims in a different direction and the problems begin! Will they both survive?

*EDIT* March 2024: Video had to be uploaded to an alternative site, as it was banned from Youtube after 4 years….

Sorry for the text in the picture, that was embedded in the source video.

Ha, I am sure you didn’t expect that outcome! πŸ˜‰

I don’t know why she is separating from him on purpose like that. I don’t know any of the background stories since I don’t speak Portuguese.

And it’s quite odd how fast they run out of air. Hard to tell how much time elapsed, but he realizes that she is gone rather quickly. They both should have air for around 45 minutes.

The first time she checks her air reserves she is already out, was she diving around without orientation for over 30 minutes?

However, what makes this scene so remarkable are the “sound effects”. She sucks desperately for air and I actually never heard that sound so “loud” like in here.

I would say they recorded that sound later in the sound studio and added it afterward.

Her increasing panic in combination with these sounds makes a really great peril scene in my opinion! A rare gem!

Somehow ironic that he manages to rescue her, then wanna retrieve his camera, doesn’t check his air supply before the dive, and therefore drowns later on.

An unexperienced frogwoman on her first dive

This odd scene from a Russian movie (tv show?) shows how much you can do wrong when you go on a scuba dive!

I don’t understand the Russian audio but clearly, the woman never dove before and the guy has some experience with scuba diving.

Let’s start with some preview pictures:

And here is the video:

Oh man! These two do a LOT of things that you shouldn’t do while diving! πŸ˜‰

Her excuse may be the little to no experience that she has. A fine example of why you shouldn’t dive without a proper scuba certificate!

She gets a panic attack and accidentally rips out his regulator, he should now just retrieve his regulator and the situation could be under control again.

But he grabs the regulator of the panicking frogwoman….what a disaster move!

These two have 4 working regulators in total…but what do they do? Use only 1(!) of them! Oh man…..

Of course, pulling out her regulator makes things worse and she heads to the surface….way too fast!

These two can be happy that they are still alive. πŸ˜†

I don’t have an IMDB link this time, I just know the English title:

“Wanted a wife with a kid”

*EDIT* Original title seems to be: IMDB

If this is a Russian movie or TV show…I don’t know.

Breaking Surface – A very promising new scuba movie!

I don’t know if I ever have written here about an upcoming movie, I guess not. But this one surely deserves our attention!

Thanks to a user on a forum I learned about the upcoming, Swedish movie “Breaking surface”.

Let us start with the trailer (without subtitles):

*EDIT* Version with English subtitles (thanks to “omai” for that!):

Trailer with subtitles

(can’t embed the video here)

Well, I have to say I wasn’t that excited about a new movie with scuba scenes since I saw the trailer for “Sanctum” several years back!

This one seems all about two frogwomen (sisters actually) and their diving trip that really takes a bad turn. I don’t understand the Swedish dialogues in the trailer, but it is rather easy to understand the basic story:

As one of them is trapped underwater the older sister needs to supply her trapped, younger sister with full air tanks to stay alive and find a way to free her before all air supplies are gone.

And the trailer alone shows already quite a lot of scuba peril scenes and hints at how much there might be in the full movie. I’m not the biggest fan of drysuits, but that is only a minor issue. They have modern full-face scuba masks, actually quite a rare sight in movies. And the last FFM’s I saw in movies were masks that were designed just for the movies, and they weren’t very attractive.

As you can see in the last moments of the trailer the movie will premiere in Sweden on February 14th. It doesn’t have any premiere dates for other countries now and somehow I don’t think that will change that close to the premiere. I do hope that the movie will surface along with subtitles in the near future as I really MUST see this one!

An interesting detail: 1:21 into the trailer there is a diver with a different scuba mask. Is that another diver? If yes, who is he/she and what does this diver intend to do?

Or is the diver her older sister? But why would she now use a different scuba mask? Is her old one broke by then? Many interesting questions πŸ˜‰

Official storyline:

A few days after Christmas, Swedish/Norwegian half-sisters, Ida and Tuva, set out on a winter dive in a remote part of the Norwegian coastline. Towards the end of the dive, a rockslide traps Tuva underwater. As Ida surfaces to call for help, she discovers that the rockslide has struck above water as well, burying their equipment, phones, and car keys… they are completely cut off from any chance of outside rescue. As the frantic race for survival unfolds, Ida is put to the ultimate test of character and forcefulness. During Ida’s fight to save Tuva, a fractured sisterhood is exposed, and when all seems lost, the stakes rise beyond simple survival.

The careless frogwoman on treasure hunt

This scene was laying around on my HD for some months, totally forgot about it….thanks to the one who recommended it to me!

In this scene of a german movie, we have a bunch of treasure hunters that dive to find some important historic treasure.

One of them is a female professor with only a little diving experience….and in this case, that brings her into trouble! πŸ˜‰

Preview:

And here is the video:

Yeah, it gets dangerous underwater if you don’t know what is behind you…

And when that valve breaks….you are into deep trouble. But at least she wasn’t alone, even she wasn’t really near her group.

However, always an ….interesting…..sight to see so many bubbles ascending to the surface πŸ˜‰

If you don’t speak german and wanna know about the dialogues:

Before the dive, the female professor wants to join the dive. The leader doesn’t want her on that dive due to her low dive experience. She insists and he gives in.

After the dive, he asks her why she wasn’t close by and why she was so reckless….blabla.

Caves, frogwomen and “ghost” sharks [Blog exclusive]

These scenes are from a very new movie, I tried to upload the short clips (under 4 minutes) on Youtube, but they were blocked right away (like in the past with the prequel to this movie).

So, these videos will only be on this Blog, but not on my Youtube channel.

In this movie, we got 4 very young women that wanna explore an ancient underwater cave system.

And SURPRISE….that wasn’t a really good idea πŸ˜‰

They have to fight monstrous “ghost” sharks and their dwindling air reserves!

Well, you didn’t expect that ending! πŸ˜‰

For that reason, I avoided any hints of drowning in the text and pictures above.

This one is a pretty great one for the drowning-peril fans out there.

I wanted to watch this movie for a while and I was spoilered that she would drown in that scene….unfortunately.

Never expected to see a shark “drown” a female diver. Yes, of course, that wasn’t his intention, but by biting into her scuba gear, he forced her to give it up.

And without it -deep down in that cave system- she hadn’t had a chance without any help in range.

She drowns pretty quick, but in her state of panic, with the shark on her tail….no surprise.

The movie offers a lot of underwater scenes as they are underwater for at least 75% of the movie!

I generally like full-face scuba masks, but these aren’t my taste. They show “everything” (what the producers clearly wanted)  and look very “unstylish”.

The scuba gear is incomplete with these “shorty” wetsuits and the missing fins. For me, more would be …..more here πŸ˜‰

The “we run out of oxygen soon” is a topic for parts of the movie, but unlike in the first movie, it wasn’t handled very well in this one in my opinion.

However, I strongly recommend that you watch the whole movie if you like to see these 4 frogwomen in underwater peril for a looooong time!
