A female diver gets into trouble underwater… as she loses consciousness

I have known about this scene for a while now and now it is time to finally post about it.

In this scene from the ’70s, a female scuba diver runs into problems…

The picture quality isn’t good, but I haven’t found a better source.

A good ’70s vintage scuba gear combo for sure! She looks great in that suit and the peril scene is “nice” (as it is fictional).

She is lucky that the regulator stays in her mouth and that she didn’t spit it out as she had her seizure.

She recovers and they discover that she had an epileptic shock that came without any convulsions.

A female diver with a FFM on a night dive… and a shark!

This one was on my radar for some weeks and I was happy when it was finally released!

My favorite scuba scene in this one is the focus of this post.

A woman dives into the Seine at night to find some proof… and she isn’t alone down there.

Yeah, actually, there is no shark to be found here… only some traces of it.

But I like the suspense, the breathing sounds and her eyes in that mask look really sexy as well.

Glad they used a “real” FFM and not one of the newer FFMs where you can see the full face, that gets used often in movies lately.

The whole scene is pretty dark… but well, it’s night and they seemingly only use very little artificial light. #realistic

The wetsuit she is using can also be found in several of my Project F videos as I own such a wetsuit myself.

Most parts of this movie are quite ok, but after 75% the movie goes fully off the rails. The whole ending is completely insane!

I guess the scriptwriter went insane as he/she was writing it…or was on heavy drugs.

It’s actually one of the most laughable movie endings I have ever seen… no joke. #notinagoodway

The movie has some more scuba scenes, but mostly with guys and without peril … except getting eaten by that fantasy shark(s).

And it’s another movie with CGI fantasy sharks with completely crazy behavior.

Sometimes I think that there should be a message in front of such movies that this is pure fantasy and that sharks are rather harmless for humans.

Some facts would help as so many folks are so afraid of sharks.

I wonder why there isn’t a Horror-hippo movie… they are so much more dangerous to humans! But ok, these won’t show up at the beach.

I will get the Blu-ray of this movie… if there will be one… when it’s really cheap.

The Longest Breath – A horror short film with a female freediver

This one was recommended to me some weeks ago. Thanks again for that!

A female freediver trains alone in a long pool and pushes herself to the limit… until …. well… see for yourself!

I was about to post a spoilery picture here… but I will rather wait a few days so you have the chance not to be spoilered 😉

This is not my upload, you can view the short film here for free (the password to watch it can be found on the page):

https://www.victoria-rivera.com/the-longest-breath

Well, that is quite a surprising ending… and you can interpret the hell out of it.

Was she cursed?

Did the janitor guy drown her with magic powers? And if yes… why? Just because she annoyed him?

Was she just disoriented and exhausted? Even that couldn’t explain it fully…

Why didn’t the janitor do anything to help her at the end?

Why didn’t she react at all to him?

Or was it just her nightmare after some intense training day?

It is pretty dark and her sexy wetsuit and body don’t get the light they deserve.

Plus at the end… the camera is way too far away from her final moments (+ some ugly CGI bubbles).

A well-done short movie for sure… very atmospheric and certainly a surprising end!

Plus you won’t find many women in such wetsuits in a horror movie….

Father and daughter make a wreck dive…. and find a guy with a spear gun! [80s Sea Hunt]

So… three weeks ago I made a post about an old Sea Hunt episode from the late 50s.

So, how about a scene from the newer Sea Hunt TV show from the 80s?

In this scene, Mike Nelson and his daughter are exploring a wreck… until a guy points a spear gun at them!

Yeah, a solid scene!

I’m not the biggest fan of such ’80s wetsuits… but I know many like them.

Her peril scene is pretty short and she isn’t in any real danger at that point… but it’s a nice little bonus.

The guy with the spear gun adds some thrill to it… even though he is “just” pointing it at them and there is no fight.

I included the surface scene so you can see her… unmasked.

Wanna know the episode name?

To my research, it is episode 10, “Danger, Mines Ahead!”… even the title doesn’t really fit the episode…

Vintage frogwoman wants to retrieve some stolen diamonds! [Sea Hunt classic]

I noticed that there is very little Sea Hunt content here on the blog, that has to change!

Also… I’m a bit low on new material as well.

Only 2 scenes from the original and 2 scenes from the 80s remake are on the blog.

Interesting how her black scuba hood changes into a white bathing cap underwater at the beginning 😉 #continuationerror

Yeah, the picture quality isn’t great and it’s black and white… but still, I love such scenes from that awesome show!

She looks great in that vintage black rubber wetsuit! Plus the double hose regulator on top 🙂

The viewer already learns one of the most important rules of scuba diving in this one.

It’s a great scenario to have this woman learning to scuba dive for some criminal actions.

Even she just is there to retrieve the diamonds. Lucky for her she gets away with it in the end.

I guess if a guy would have done it… the two wouldn’t have let him get away with it 😉

All in all a good early episode with a lot of female scuba diving.

A deadly scuba fight inside a sunken airplane! [Hall of Fame]

This one is quite a blast! And I think many will like this one … a LOT! 😉

Thanks a ton for the recommendation!

This scene actually made it to my Hall of Fame as shows something very rare.

I am very happy about every new scuba scene… especially a big caliber like this one!

Let us check it out!

(A filter was used by me to make the video a bit brighter… it is even darker in the original)

Well…. have I promised too much? I hope not….

First, some background story as this scene is a flashback:

“The real Elliot Stanley was a diver, who Frank McDonnell hired to find a downed plane which his father had been on. His father had called him telling him he had important information to

share but had died on the plane before he could show him.

Hoping to find what was inside, Frank hired Elliot. However, Elliot had also become acquainted with Niamh Cassidy, and had travelled down to the plane with her.

While there, she handcuffed him to the plane and sliced his breathing apparatus with a knife, killing him so he couldn’t reveal the truth of what had been found there.”

(not written by me)

Ok, there are some minus points here for sure:

It’s quite a dark scene, even with some added light by me. Ok, it’s realistic as they dive down quite deep and have only their small lights.

It’s uncool that there hasn’t been any surface shot before the dive… especially as they have such cool vintage scuba gear.

Also… it’s not good that his drowning isn’t shown at all. She exists the plane and the rest is left to the imagination.

But… there is a LOT of great aspects in this one for me!

There is a female scuba diver who attacks a male diver and kills him… that is incredibly rare stuff! I know only 3 or 4 scenes where that happens in the movies or in a TV show.

The scuba hear is great. Seems like this is set in the 70s or 80s with these suits. They both have great vintage wetsuits. What is really interesting is that both divers seemingly have “armored”

air hose with some protective encasing around the regular air hose.

That is quite unusual and also … weird. I mean you can see her protector just around most of the hose while some parts aren’t protected by it.

But ok, this way only certain parts of her hose can be sliced.

Perhaps both used this extra protection as they were diving into a wreck … which often has some sharp edges.

Or are they both prepared for a scuba knife fight? 😉

It’s funny and unrealistic that his air hose basically explodes as her knife is just touching it 😆

It’s actually quite difficult to slice such a hose… as I have proven in some of my Project F videos 😉

I really like how she planned this whole thing. She ties him up first, which he realizes very quickly and then she attacks with her knife.

He isn’t helpless and also has a knife. She cuts into his arm, so his defense is down as she slices his air hose.

She is out of his reach and so he is doomed to drown in that plane.

I love all the sounds that he makes in this scene! I guess they added some in post-production, a great job 🙂

He immediately realizes that he is in big trouble and you can hear that from the start.

Also, I do love the reveal of the scuba killer!

How she walks out of the water, that she ditches some gear, and that you can only see from behind how she pulls off her scuba hood.

The audience has still no clue who that is or how she looks until the camera moves around her and shows her face in that phone booth.

A great reveal for sure!

Ok, enough from me… how do YOU like this scene?

Yeah, the female diver doesn’t play the main role in this one.

But it is a solid scuba scene and a very interesting scenario in my opinion!

The (direct) aftermath of his death isn’t shown in the episode afterward.

I added the solution to the murder mystery as it is an interesting plot.

There is a script error when the detective is talking about “snorkel mouthpiece” instead of “regulator mouthpiece”.

Guess the writer wasn’t really familiar with scuba terms.

And the female diver was just very lucky…

A sunken plane, sharks …and 3 trapped passengers

Do you remember the movie “Airport ’77”?

In that one a big plane collides with an oil rig and sinks in (rather) shallow waters, leaving the passengers and crew trapped underwater.

I saw that movie as a child and it is still one of my favorite movies from the disaster genre.

Now we have another movie that has a pretty similar storyline:

A plane crashes and sinks to the bottom… leaving the surviving passengers trapped underwater.

Only in this case, it adds some sharks to it… so it is a low-budget fantasy/horror flick.

…with some scuba content!

I had to cut the video rather short so, it would have a chance to stay on YouTube.

Still, it has been blocked in France and its overseas provinces/islands.

*EDIT* March 18:

(in case you can’t watch it on YouTube)

In case you wonder what happens to her:

Spoiler title
She struggles to get out of the down-sliding plane and passes out (drowns?) on her way up to the surface. Seemingly she is dead but wakes up coughing after a short time. #odd

Yeah, the roaring shark who ignores her is really… cringy.

But I like that he unmasks her as the tail hits her face.

Quite surprising that the fact that she loses her scuba mask doesn’t influence her at all… seemingly.

Also, she could have recovered it… in case it isn’t broken. But for some reason, she didn’t care about her mask.

The buddy breath scenes with the guy are well done.

In case you wonder why there is a dead scuba diver inside the plane:

He was one of two of a rescue team who found the plane but the fantasy sharks quickly had them as a scuba diver “snack”.

Some guys with scuba gear were on the plane… so the three could use that gear to escape the plane (wetsuits/masks).

All in all… a nice scene, and I am grateful for any new movie material with scuba scenes.

A scuba fight with 3 female scuba divers (and a guy)! [air hose damage included]

I do prefer live-action over animated scenes… but this one just has to be on the blog!

There are a lot of interesting aspects to this one.

The scuba gear is very unusual! The evil female divers use some mini breathing devices like James Bond does in Thunderball.

And the two heroes have an even more interesting setup. They use oxygen masks with double hoses!

I guess both hoses are supposed to be intake hoses here as it wouldn’t be a big problem if the left hose would be damaged like that as that would (normally) be the outtake hose where the used air

gets transported back to the first stage to be vented out there.

But maybe I’m overthinking it already as the creators might not actually had a clue how that gear would work…?!?

However, I really like the scene with the damaged air hose! Nice sound effects and a creative scuba fight for sure.

The guy throws an octopus at one of the attackers… and she is out of the fight… at least.

Delilah grabs the weight belt of the other villainess who then ascends quickly to the surface… which can be deadly depending on the depth and the fact if she can stop the uncontrolled ascend

or not.

All in all a very interesting and thrilling scene 🙂
