Now I fully watched it for the first time and …. I do wanna post about it after all.

The female diver is actually famous Wende Wagner, who was an actual expert diver and was also often an underwater stunt-double.
Here she actually has quite a big part on “land” (underwater base) as well.
Her wetsuit certainly fits her very well… unfortunately, it looks like a dishtowel with that pattern 😆
The guy has the sexier wetsuit in my opinion. However, she does look great in the surface part of the video!
The mini-sub is really cool! It reminds me of a certain movie… and yes, this movie came out very close to Thunderball 😉
The movie has lengthy underwater scenes and plenty of “gearing up” scenes. The amount drags down the movie quite a lot here and there.
Unfortunately, there is very little underwater action when it comes to Wende Wagner.
I will make another post with her when she encounters the monster at the end of the movie. Sadly, this doesn’t happen underwater.
But she can then do what women in such roles had to do back in the day: look good, scream, stand around helpless …and get rescued by a guy.

I bought the Blu-ray of this film a few weeks ago after having only a (bad) recording from an Italian TV channel for decades. She was very beautiful, and the underwater scenes were overall well-shot. However (as almost always happens…) there’s the feeling of a great missed opportunity. A little underwater action (she was a very good diver) and, above all, a nice, smooth, tight-fitting wetsuit would have been enough to make a memorable film. I don’t know where the costume designer found such a strange underwater garment…
I heard that they put out a german Mediabook with it with several really cool covers… even an edition with a figurine of the monster.
Sometimes really odd how much of an effort they make for such an odd, forgotten movie.
But it seems to pay off…
Indeed, a missed opportunity. But her in full Thunderball gear with full black rubber wetsuit with double hose.
Then let her fight the monster underwater. Then let the monster tear up her intake air hose…. Then let her escape at the last moment.
Something like that 😉
