Out frogwoman who was stuck in the net in that post is in this video as well, but only short as this post isn’t really about her.
I just included her in the video so that you can see her again π
This post is rather from my “Imagine if…” series.
We have a pretty long and intense scuba fight with two frogmen. Damn, I wish there would be such a long scuba fight between two frogWOmen π
Check it out, I bet you will like it π

Wow, pretty much every way on how to kill an enemy diver is included in this fight…
They try to stab each other, strangle each other, a mask gets ripped off, kick each other, and try to kill the other one with rocks(!) and one tries to smash the other one’s head against rocks.
The scriptwriter was pretty creative for sure! Only a harpoon and a sliced air hose were missing π
And the way the good guy finishes the villain (actually Rutger Hauer!) is quite sinister.
I mean I never liked these inflatable vests, especially on frogwomen…. as they obscure the view, but is there no way to stop the inflation once the mechanism was “activated”?
Would like to know if such a “pull cord” had a safety mechanism or so…. I mean I can’t imagine that one unintentional pull on that thing would mean certain death if you are below a certain depth.
I mean, if an enemy diver can be killed with one pull on the inflation mechanism… it’s a very easy method.
Perhaps someone here can explain how these old inflatable vests worked and how “safe” they actually are. Seems like there were quite some potential risks with these vests.. at least regarding misuse.
“…. and it involves one female diver against 4 male divers. The female diver also surfaces and fights men on a boat.”
Well, for a moment I was really thrilled! A female diver fights against 4 male divers??? Or even 5 if I’m counting right… Sounds great, sounds awesome!
But then I thought…. well, why don’t I know that scene after 900 years of searching for such scenes? And I got a really bad feeling…. π
Here is a preview:

…for…

And here is the video from hell:
–
Well….. OH MY GOD!!! Or rather… WTF!!!
Ok, you have a frogwoman heroine and several evil divers…. and they actually do fight underwater…. and THIS is the result of the filming?
ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
I’m not sure if I should laugh my ass off or break down in tears…. or both.
A perfect example of how to totally ruin potential great scenes π
Some folks (not me) are complaining that the scuba battles in Thunderball are too long and “slow” as the water slows down the action.
I also remember that the director of the Thunderball remake “Never say never again” was also no fan of underwater fights.
So, perhaps the director of this “movie” thought about how he could make these fights more intense and with more speed (in his opinion).
And his solution was seemingly to just increase the playback speed… of many action scenes (even on land).
Well, the result is laughably bad… in my opinion… and totally ruins these scenes.
The murky water is also a problem and they seemingly had no underwater lights at all…
In the end, I can’t enjoy these underwater fights at all and am really annoyed afterward.
The wetsuit of the frogwoman is uninteresting and very loose… I guess so the actress/stunt woman could do her martial arts moves. Quite a turn-off.
I’m 99% sure that these scenes were partially cut, as we don’t see the first two frogmen get hit by the spear, but well…. cut or not cut… all hope is lost here.
Oddly enough a german DVD of this “movie” is released in a few days for very little money, guess I will buy that one for the scuba collection as a perfect example on how to NOT do a scuba fight scene.
There are no more scuba scenes with her in this one.
You won’t see any women in the video of this post.
So, why do I make a post about it?
I think this scene is a great “template” for a scuba fight with sexy female divers!
Check out the video, I’m very sure you will find it interesting….
I was browsing through some old footage that I had recorded a long time ago and stumbled on this scene.
And I managed to make a video file in good quality for you folks and myself.

Just an ordinary day for Mannix. Cruising around in a boat…
…getting attacked by frogmen in black rubber, who…
…want to drown him!
He doesn’t want to drown though… π

And here is the video:
–
Well, now imagine that these divers would wear the same outfits…but… would actually be sexy frogWOmen!
They try to drown him and he fights back, struggling with the sexy rubberwomen underwater… π
Or imagine Mannix to be a female detective… whatever you like best.
The scuba gear is near perfection for me here. The black rubber wetsuit in combination with hoods and double hose regulators were always my favorite since …a certain movie π
And it would be so awesome to have sexy, evil frogwomen in such a scuba fight!
–
Ok, back to the scene:
Well, these two really screw up big time! They are two against one. They have a complete set of scuba gear, he has nothing at all, but manages to win the fight.
I guess they wanted to make it look like he drowned, otherwise they could have used their knives…. or they underestimated him.
However, it’s not so easy to pull down a buoyant body down, even they are two.
But they fail to control him so he can temporarily “throw” one frogman out of the fight and is able to fight against one.
I love how he rips off the complete hose from the first stage. Hard to say how realistic that is…. but I think it is possible…perhaps.
And he actually rips it off the intake port, which is on the right side of the tank/first stage. Air is streaming out of it….
Then they actually cheat as suddenly the hose is ripped off from the left side of the tank/first stage. Obviously, the air is free-flowing and the diver is losing air, but with this trick, he still can breathe, so the stunt diver is quite safe.
Seemingly the diver in the scene then immediately drowns, which is quite odd as he isn’t out of air for long and Mannix was underwater longer without air. He is never seen again afterward.
The second diver then finally grabs his knife to kill Mannix, but well… he loses the struggle with Mannix and also his knife to him.
–
All in all, I really like this scene as it’s a great template if you have a little fantasy…. π
P.S.: The same two divers actually kidnap a woman from a boat and force a scuba tank on her earlier in the episode!
But….tragically…. that story gets only told….not shown on the screen! DAMN IT!
What I would give to have that scene in full colors…..
There are 4 seasons of this TV show. 3 of them were filmed in color. Sadly this is from the first season π
However, I really love that scene despite some flaws!
Thankfully they had a female diver to play the role and didn’t use a male to play her action part as they often did in the 50s and 60s.
A really big minus point for me is how passive she is. But well, fits the time in which this was shot.
She basically does nothing. She doesn’t defend herself and she doesn’t attack him at any time! She did have quite some opportunities to attack him, but she is basically a Scubadoll in a rubber suit π
She just holds onto him while he is occupied with her tank harness, she could easily rip off his mask or rip out his regulator! Yes, she doesn’t have her scuba mask, but he is so close in front of her, that she should be able to see him well enough.
The fact that she doesn’t need her tank to breathe underwater is a minus point as well, but you can easily change that in your fantasy π
If I remember the backstory right she has the special ability to breathe underwater.
The bad guys are using her as a weapon to fight the submarine of the good guys. Her tank is actually an explosive device.
I love how the guy immediately goes for her mask to blind her (temporarily). He knows what he is doing.
It’s very rare to have an unmasked woman in such a scuba fight scene.
Her “unmasked” face looks quite sexy…
He has to get rid of her explosive “tank” and therefore he strips her of her scuba tank as well and thereby she also loses her regulator (that she needs in my fantasy).
The explosion hits her, and she is unconscious for the moment.
The naughty frogman takes ….advantage…. of that:
Damn, that stunt diver(?) really had a great time! I guess they had to repeat some of these scenes quite often π
I added the scene where she is unconscious and gets carried around in the submarine as that is quite sexy as well.
Again I played around with the simple tool to colorize one picture:
Yeah, not exactly a great result but at least better than the black and white version.
Pretty sure that is the Voit logo on his chest. Look like they used the same suits later on in Thunderball (different colors).
This episode actually aired earlier in the same year as Thunderball did (1965).
(had problems with these scenes on Youtube in the past)

Watch the video before you continue!
So, you might guess why this one is a classic for me π
So, we have two beautiful women in nice vintage scuba gear! Ok, the BCD vests are kind of uncool…but at least they are only on the back.
The scuba fight is done pretty well, a nice struggle, she is occupied with controlling his knife hand as it’s the greatest threat to her.
They roll around nicely and finally, he manages to get his knife into position and slice her live-giving air hose!
It seems like they recorded the sound from her escaping air in a studio or so. Not 100% sure.
However, it sounds as sexy to me as it looks!
Lucky for her, he ….seemingly….. “just” wants to scare her off for the moment as he immediately swims away instead of holding her back at that depth.
Ok, hard to say in which depths they were… If they were deep enough he might have thought that she wouldn’t make it to the surface or wouldn’t survive an emergency ascend.
Also, the other Angel is there to rescue her by starting buddy breathing with her.
The sight of a sliced air hose spewing bubbles is quite something for me! π
All in all, a very good scene that now finally gets into my Hall of Fame.
The end of the episode is also nice, as they look great with just their wetsuits on! Plus the nice Navy helicopter that reminds me of a certain movie with “some” scuba content π
–
But there is one more very interesting scuba scene in this episode!
This time three frogwomen are underwater and the bad guy is there again.
A good scene, but it seems a little….”lackluster” in the end.
One of them is charging him like a bull, and that without a scuba knife! (Why do the Angels haven’t got any knives?)
A very brave attack!
But then the two others join and the action gets very, very tame. They move slowly and a little “random”.
That scene could have used a better directing/script. It seems like they don’t fully know what to do here and there…..
The other two should have had a little more energy.
In my version, the frogwoman in yellow would fight with him.
The others would attack from behind and one would rip off his scuba mask and one would yank out his regulator.
But ok, in this version they have to escape the blast radius and he is staying back to get blown up π
I will watch the full episode today to get the full backstory behind it.
This scene is special as 3 frogwomen are fighting against one frogman, even though it’s a short and tame struggle. Quite unique nonetheless…I would say.
….and I wanna make a new post about it as this one deserves a proper post with proper text!
And by making a new post I wanna present that scene/the movie to all folks who don’t know the original post from 2013.

This one is very special to me, and I wanna explain why, but first, check out some preview pictures and the video.

…for action!

The villainess in action!

And here is the video:
–
Ok, some backstory first.
The woman who walks into the lake is playing an actress in a movie…in the movie. She is the leading lady.
The villainess already killed off some folks throughout the movie with various methods (drowning (no UW footage), bow and arrow, etc.).
So, at the very beginning, you can see the safety diver who was supposed to look out for the actress in the lake has already been murdered (wasn’t shown in the movie).
She has the same type of wetsuit as he does, she is well-prepared.
And damn, I just love her wetsuit, she looks great in that smooth skin wetsuit π
The way the camera moves higher on her body and she puts on her scuba mask….well done!
What is funny is the fact that her first stage is on the wrong side, her left side….and so the regulator is also wrong as it is upside-down in her mouth (the exhale on top).
Seems like the filming crew here didn’t know much about scuba diving π
Later on, as she is underwater the mistake is corrected.
The “good” woman is wearing a wetsuit and scuba socks under her coat they don’t bother hiding it especially as she is out of the water again in the end. But I guess she was wearing that for the filming of that scene of the movie that they shot inside this movie…..quite confusing π
Underwater, there are two main problems for me.
The visibility is quite bad and I guess therefore the camera is very close to the two women, too close sometimes.
But I love the breathing sounds of the villainess and the fact that the other woman fights back, she isn’t totally passive like other women in other movies.
Several times she tries to steal the regulator of the villainess….. so great!
The villainess “only” needs to keep her underwater, even though that would be pretty difficult in reality, as the other woman has no weights on her and is even wearing a wetsuit!
I think it would be hard to keep her from surfacing, but okay, it’s only a small issue.
It’s also a little off that the guy immediately finds the two in a murky lake and without a scuba mask. Yeah, there are bubbles from the regulator of the villainess, but I think it would be really difficult to find them quickly. Especially without a scuba mask.
It’s a shame that the detective was already in scuba gear and disturbs the villainess.
A shame that the villainess here wasn’t able to put up more of a fight. Quickly he yanks down her mask hard and thereby also removes her regulator. With one swift move, she is finished.
Seemingly he quickly yanks down her scuba hood as soon they hit the surface because her hood is already down as the camera shows her.
I love the way she looks as they drag her away in her gorgeous scuba outfit!
And the whole idea of having this villainess putting on that scuba gear to sneakily kill a woman in a film shooting is just brilliant and quite ….sexy….for me.
I mean it’s incredibly rare to have a frogwoman who tries to kill someone. Especially in such a sexy wetsuit!
This villainess here is one of my favorite villainesses of all time.
And even though the scuba scene has quite some flaws, I will make an entry in the Hall of Fame, where you already can find a special “wetsuit cut” video of this scene!
Would have loved to see how she would have escaped from the lake in her wetsuit…
