The scuba killer, the VIP and a pool

First of all:

I posted a little update on Project F:

Project F

(scroll down to update on September 26)

So, this one is a little….”cheat”, but I decided to post it anyway as this scene is very interesting!

Let’s start with some pictures (without showing the killer):

Here is the video:

Yeah, I know, no female diver in this one….but there are some interesting aspects to this one.

Ok, first of all, I would like the scene even better if the killer would be a woman. But female scuba killers are an extremely rare breed….

The scene itself is done pretty well with close-ups of him and her. He holds her down by controlling her arms, that’s very efficient.

She tries to escape his grasp but fails, so she is doomed without help from the outside.

The scuba dude is a stone-cold killer the way he drowns her without any emotions.

I wish he would get drowned himself in the end….but that doesn’t happen….even he would have deserved it.

His blue outfit is quite odd, never seen a wetsuit like that, odd fabric. But it makes a lot of sense to fully disguise himself in complete blue so he wouldn’t be easily spotted in the pool.

But…..I think she should have seen him anyway….unless he was in a spot where he couldn’t see him from the position where she entered the pool.

However, since he is using a normal regulator she should be able to spot his bubbles! Well, unless he was able to not exhale from the time she came near the pool.

Guess that is possible.

The next question is…where he was as the agents searched the garden? If he would be already in the pool….they should have seen or heard him! Perhaps he sneaked into the pool after the search, guess that is also possible.

In my version, the killer would be a frogwoman in black rubber (screw the disguise 😉 who sneaked into the pool as her victim was already swimming there. The swimmer would fight back, struggle hard, steal the regulator of the diver, but would be drowned in the end after she nearly finished off the diver.

Or she would pretend to be dead and then attack the frogman from behind, stealing his regulator…. 😉

The frogwoman and the diver who got sucked in!

That’s a title 😉

Well, it’s time for a new post and this one has a pretty long history.

I used to have this show some years ago and started watching it, but lost interest somehow after some episodes.

Then several nice guys recommended the show for its scuba scenes.

But in the meantime I somehow….lost….the show, don’t know how it happened.

I tried to get my hands on it again, but no luck…..for a looooong time.

Finally, some weeks ago I got it and checked every episode for scuba (and other) scenes.

This episode has by far the best scenes, and perhaps I don’t even post about other episodes…but let’s see.

Preview, scene 1:

And here is the video:

Well, not that much action in this scene….but doesn’t she look incredible with the silver ScubaPro regulator?

I know there are some guys who really love to see such lips around a regulator….

Not a fan of her scuba mask as I don’t like such see-through silicone on masks, but well, only a minor complaint.

And here is the video:

Quite a nice peril scene as she gets sucked into that pipe!

Ok, with that speed it’s hard to really see something but the sounds are….interesting.

And well, even the guy got injured as he got trapped down there….. he gets rescued by her, so….the day wasn’t a total fail 😉

I really love the regulator the two lifeguards are using. Sadly, these new, high-end Scubapro regs are pretty expensive…. I got a similar (older) one for Project F, but that isn’t as great as this version.

Damn, I really would have LOVED to see this frogwoman in a scuba fight in that TV show….but well, no luck.

According to IMDB, it’s episode 19, in my listing, it is 11…..

Jessica Alba, a dead diver, a dolphin, and a maniac [+ BONUS scene]

[2nd post for today]

Today I wanna show two scenes from the very early days of the 90’s Flipper TV show.

The main scene features a very young Jessica Alba ( I guess only in the surface scenes) and her male buddy to dive down to a shipwreck.

They make an unexpected find….

And here is the video:

Well, certainly not something you wanna find underwater….or anywhere else. #dead dude

I like the performance of the bad guy on the boat as they return to the surface.

Really evil and creepy. Seconds later he even shots Flipper puncturing his fin with a spear! But well, I decided to cut that out of the video as they may spark some comments….

Of course, he is ok later on as this is a kid’s TV show in the first place. 😉

The two kids get locked up and get rescued later on.

As a bonus, I have another short scene that doesn’t actually have a frogwoman in it, but you might find it interesting anyhow.

You may have noticed that the air hose of the dead diver was sliced….well, here is the scene from earlier in the episode:

Damn, how great would this scene be if it actually would have been 3 frogWOmen? Or at least one….

However, it shows how ruthless the main villain is as he just locks the guy in there after slicing his air hose.

Later on in the episode, the bad guy battles a good guy and loses (but isn’t killed), but that scene is rather badly done…in my opinion.

A frogwoman in black rubber in a shark documentary from 1971

I stumbled upon a very new documentary “Playing with sharks: The Valerie Taylor story” about the (very remarkable) life of Valerie Taylor.

Until then I haven’t heard about her…but that knowledge gap could be closed 😉

That documentary is well worth a watch, I highly wanna recommend it!

But this post is actually (mostly) about another documentary….a documentary that is mentioned several times in “Playing with sharks”.

A documentary from 1971, with sharks…and Valerie Taylor in black rubber for most time underwater!

The film crew is on the hunt for a great white shark as they wanna film him underwater as he is feeding….something that was never done before (before 1971)!

For you folks I made a highlight cut with my favorite scenes 😉

Watch the video before you continue!

There are a lot more scenes of her in that rubber suit, but then the video would get way too long 😉

Some years earlier she might also have used a double hose regulator, but those were already on the retreat since the mid-’60s.  🙁

But I really love her suit…for me, it can’t get much better than such a black rubber wetsuit!

And did you realize that fish did bite in her air hose at around 2:38???!

That fish was just curious…luckily for her, that bite wasn’t strong enough to puncture her only air hose.

Of course, even that wouldn’t have been a problem for her as she is a very skilled diver and help would have been nearby.

But still, I really like that scene! I wonder what would have happened if she had had a corrugated air hose…. as these are way easier to damage/puncture.

The documentary itself….is very problematic….from today’s point of view.

The research on sharks was only at the beginning and it shows big time. This documentary was watched all around the world and I think it’s safe to say that it played an important role in the development of Spielberg’s blockbuster “Jaws”.

Taylor did actually film some shots for it some years later with her husband.

I still really love that movie, even I know it’s fantasy and that sharks don’t behave like that.

For the sharks that movie was surely catastrophic in many ways.

In the new documentary “Playing with sharks” that I mentioned earlier….Valerie Taylor reflects a lot on how her attitude towards sharks and sea life in general has changed over the years.

So, I can recommend to watch both documentaries as you then get the whole “picture”, even you should have a strong stomach for watching the old documentary as there is a lot of cruelty vs aninmals….especially whales….in it.

Here is a picture of the new documentary:

Also….a lot of interesting scuba gear from the ’50s onwards…in this one.

A moron trapped underwater….but 2 female and one male are smarter than he is [Baywatch]

Time for another good scene from season 10 of Baywatch!

Preview:

And here is the video:

Don’t know how that dude managed to get trapped like that…. perhaps he only wanted to be rescued 😉

In that case, his plan worked as one hot lifeguard was around to rescue him with her colleague.

Nice that the two women struggled shortly as the girlfriend didn’t want to surface.

Of course, I would have rather preferred to see her in a wetsuit, but it makes sense as there was no time to get into one.

A female scuba diver in heavy scuba gear in peril!

I heard about scuba scenes in an older family TV show with 6 seasons.

I skipped through every episode to check for female scuba scenes. Actually, there were only 3 of interest and only one of them has some interesting action.

Today I wanna present that one!

The scene is quite long and I wanna show it without cuts.

And here is the video:

I know such heavy gear and drysuits are not for everyone’s taste, but I think some may really enjoy this scene! Her Kirby Morgan hardhat isn’t among my favorites for sure, but I guess some of you may love it.

The clear advantages here are that you can hear the communication between her and the surface and that we can also hear her breathing sounds….a LOT! You won’t find many videos where you can hear a diver breathing to that extend.

It’s nice that they change the classic “diver is trapped underwater with 10% air left” scheme here. It’s a family TV show and perhaps that’s why this is a rather “light” peril scenario.

She is trapped, but she is also not in immediate danger. Her air isn’t running out as she gets air from the surface. Also, she isn’t stuck, but “only” her air hose is, seemingly not damaged at all.

Honestly, I don’t know much about the scuba physics behind hardhat diving like that. She is in 300feet depth and that for quite a while. That is far below any “normal” scuba diving. Don’t know how much or if lengthy decompression stops would be needed with such a hardhat setup, but perhaps they just didn’t show them here.

It’s very odd that he didn’t accompany during the dive in the first place! Why did she go down there alone? Especially as it is an am important and difficult task. Not 100% sure if it’s the actress down there or if it is even a woman at all in the underwater scenes. Very suspiciously they are never showing the inside of her helmet in a way that you can get a good look at her eyes.

In my version, there would be perhaps another frogwoman down there with them. They both hate each other but are forced to work together on this task. As one of them gets trapped the other one sees an opportunity…. Perhaps she would then play with the air hose of the stuck diver….or something like that 😉

The episode name is “Deep Peril” (nice title) from season 2, that’s for sure.

IMDB says it’s episode 16 from season 2, my info is that it is episode 13.

The frogwoman, the falling rock, and her ruptured air hose! [+Bonus scene]

Time for certainly one of the best underwater peril scenes from Flipper!

Damn, I wish this newer Flipper series would be released on Blu-ray, HD TV/streaming, or at least on DVD at some point, as the picture quality is rather bad.

But as this show is over 20 years old and isn’t well known…this might never happen 🙁

Nevertheless, I really like this scene as there are quite some interesting aspects to it!

Preview:

And here is the video:

Ok, the whole “rock floats down, slices her high-pressure air hose, but doesn’t hurt her at all” aspect is really, really weird and makes no sense.

But besides that realism aspect….it’s a pretty great scene!

First of all, these two are experienced divers in the show, it’s completely irresponsible that her dive buddy decides to leave her and surfaces without her.

Well, the scene dictates that she has to be alone down there as the mysterious guy couldn’t save the “frogwoman in distress” when the other one would be there to help her.

It’s a little odd that she doesn’t react to the other woman trying to contact her and that she seemingly isn’t much concerned that her air hose was ruptured and doesn’t react to it. But ok, maybe she was in shock by the whole development, so…..I guess that’s somehow understandable.

Lucky for her the mysterious guy shows up, yanks her mask off, and puts the octopus regulator into her mouth. Nice timing dude!

And yeah…. spoiler alert….he is a real human…. and not a product of her imagination.

Later in the episode, they have 2 short dive scenes together without action.

And by the way: “My air hose was ruptured!” …..that’s a real trigger sentence for me! 😆

IMDB is all messed up on season 4 of this show.

But it should be season 4, episode 8, “Waterworld”

Too late I realized that the scene is continued on the boat after the starting credits, so check this out:

“Sure it wasn’t Sean Connery?” she asks smiling big time….

LOVE IT! 🙂

An exotic beauty in a rubber wetsuit

This one is from a very rare movie (around 50 votes on IMDB).

It’s an Italian movie, but luckily at least some subtitles are available.

And here is the video:

Yeah, I’m not a fan of such old bathing caps (scream grandma to me) and she isn’t wearing a full wetsuit….but it’s a sexy rubber vintage jacket, and also she is using a double hose regulator!

Enough reasons for me to put this scene on this blog! 😉

Never seen that mouthpiece, it looks like a verrrry simple design. But well, it seems to work.

Of course, I wouldn’t have “minded” if she would have run into some trouble underwater…but well it’s a solid scene 😉

She looks really stunning in that gear and I’m pretty jealous of him….I have to admit.

Sadly it’s the only female diving scene in the movie.

A female scuba diver stuck underwater….and a public “nuisance”

Time for another post!

This video could have been only half as long, as the 2nd part is the scuba scene….but for ….reasons….I think it’s nice to start the video a little earlier 😉

Preview:

And here is the video:

Yeah, these Baywatch guys have a really nightmarish job 😆

And that father was really annoyed as hell about that view 😉

The peril scene is short but quite good. In at least some moments it looks as if only the forward part of her fin is stuck under the rock (however it got stuck there?!?).

So, she should be able to get out of her fin on her own. But either she wanted to save that fin at all costs (the Baywatch guy leaves it there) or her whole foot is supposed to be stuck under it.

However….it’s a classic peril scenario! Personally, I would prefer to see her in a wetsuit instead of a bikini…..but well, tastes are different.
