A woman determined to dive with sharks

First of all, I made a post on my other Blog Maskripper that you might find interesting as well 😉

It was a close call, but it does belong a little more on that blog.

A masked frogwoman infiltrates a ship! Check it out on Maskipper:

————–

Now to a woman who really wants to dive with sharks!

The backstory is rather sad, but it’s a very interesting (short) movie and it has some nice scuba scenes in it.

Check out the storyline on the IMDB page if you like (see below).

This is a rather old recommendation I got some years back. Thanks! Now it’s time to post about it 😉

And here is the video:

I made a cut with the first scene as she is having a flashback that is very sad and tragic.

I didn’t cut anything out of the scuba scene itself.

It’s rather a short scene so I only included it because of the perilous element.

The second scene is much more interesting for me.

Really great close-ups of her face. And a nice vintage-style mask, even though I don’t like that see-through material/color.

The scenes with the sharks and the beautiful music are really well done.

And it’s got to have a peaceful scuba scene with sharks here for a change, after all, that is 10 times more realistic than 99% of the shark movie scenes.

The freezing frogwoman VS the certified maniac

I know this movie since it came out in 2015 and got the UK DVD back then (for some reason it wasn’t released on Bluray?).

It was recommended to me at least 6 or 7 times since then but I didn’t make a post until today.

Why? Well, I was unsure about what to post about this movie. If I would post every scene that is somehow (scuba and/or wetsuit) interesting to this blog… I would have to post at least 70% of the movie…. as here the main actress is in a wetsuit for basically the whole movie(!) except for some flashbacks and…

Spoiler title
…the very first and last minutes of the movie.

So, I decided now to focus on the scuba part of the movie and cut out some minutes where the villain is just starring down at the ice for loooooooong.

What happened before the video scenes?

Well, basically the woman realized that her husband is a murderous psycho and he wants to kill her.

He is a scuba instructor and has special plans for her after he drugged and kidnapped her…

Here is the video:

Watch the video before you continue!

Well, quite a sinister and crazy dude!

And that is just the part where she has her scuba tank… there is a lot more to come.

First, let’s start with some things I don’t like about this scene:

The whole aspect of how much air is in her tank is quite weird. Right before the video starts he empties her full tank from 3000 PSI down to 1000 PSI in a matter of seconds by sucking on the regulator and pushing the “air shower” (the translated german term) button on it. That would never ever work that fast. Plus why does he use the “air shower” button and has the regulator in his mouth? That wouldn’t work for long as someone can’t take in that much air. And it would take much longer than in the movie.

Plus the whole air pocket aspect. Is it possible that there is such a big air pocket on a lake under the ice? I mean the exhaled air from her tank would be there for sure, but that would be completely useless as this air is already “used. (*EDIT: My mistake)

In two takes the camera focuses on her depth instead of her gas gauge!

Well….why? I mean she is just under the ice the whole time and has only one way to go (up). The audience knows that, so why show it twice?

Perhaps, as the gauge is near zero… the movie makers confused it with the gas gauge?

Very odd….

And then the gas gauge very quickly goes from 1000 down to near zero in a matter of seconds! How is that possible? Or is that supposed to be a time-lapse?

However, there are a lot of positive aspects for me as well:

It’s quite a unique setting! I mean a guy who wants to drown a woman but puts a wetsuit and a scuba tank on her?

Certainly never seen that in any other movie….

The whole “running out of air” while the killer is just above her is very suspenseful!

The frogwoman is attractive and her wetsuit is quite nice. Of course, I would have preferred a black smooth skin wetsuit, but well, this way the heroine is very “flashy”.

And as the villain here is 100% evil and crazy… it’s a very intense survival scene…and that’s only the start for her.

About the whole movie:

There a very long takes of him just staring down at the ice. I mean the movie has only a length of about 70 minutes but it seems like they had to include a lot of overly long takes to even get to that length.

Plus his whole plan is kind of odd. I mean ok, he is crazy.

His whole plan for her is quite odd. I mean he certainly wants her to suffer before she dies.

He gives her a scuba tank but it is only one-third full.

So I guess he was “worried” that she might freeze to death before drowning? Even I can only guess how long someone could actually survive the ice-cold water, even with …an inappropriate… wetsuit on.

He gives her a wetsuit but that is only a little protection when the water temperature is around zero (celsius).

He straps the regulator to the back of the tank so she has to struggle a lot to even reach it.

Plus he is there on the ice but basically can’t see anything of her struggle, except some silhouettes and some air bubbles.

I guess he enjoys the whole situation big time, otherwise, he wouldn’t have come up with such a complicated scenario for her.

I am pretty sure that the screenwriter might have some aqua fetishes 😉

The flashbacks are interesting and important to the story, but too long for my taste and drag down the intensity a little.

I guess I will make a special cut of the whole movie where I cut out the flashbacks and overly long scenes of the villain doing nothing but starring for loooong takes.

But this movie is very much unique and very suspenseful, as I am cheering for her to find a way to get out of this horrible situation.

Yeah, this is a low-budget production and the acting isn’t always very good (especially the wooden villain) but certainly a very interesting scenario that you won’t find like this in any other movie.

Certainly, a movie that you should know and I can only recommend watching the whole thing!

Here are two posters of the movie (minus the title):

Very good motives in my opinion! Even the right one looks like bad CGI.

An intense scuba figth to the death! [Imagine if…][Blog exclusive]

As promised I wanna show another scene from the same TV show as in the last post:

https://frogwoman.org/female-diver-gets-stuck-in-net-upgrade-post-longer-cut-better-quality

Out frogwoman who was stuck in the net in that post is in this video as well, but only short as this post isn’t really about her.

I just included her in the video so that you can see her again 😉

This post is rather from my “Imagine if…” series.

We have a pretty long and intense scuba fight with two frogmen. Damn, I wish there would be such a long scuba fight between two frogWOmen 😉

Check it out, I bet you will like it 😉

Watch the video before you continue!

Wow, pretty much every way on how to kill an enemy diver is included in this fight…

They try to stab each other, strangle each other, a mask gets ripped off, kick each other, and try to kill the other one with rocks(!) and one tries to smash the other one’s head against rocks.

The scriptwriter was pretty creative for sure! Only a harpoon and a sliced air hose were missing 😉

And the way the good guy finishes the villain (actually Rutger Hauer!) is quite sinister.

I mean I never liked these inflatable vests, especially on frogwomen…. as they obscure the view, but is there no way to stop the inflation once the mechanism was “activated”?

Would like to know if such a “pull cord” had a safety mechanism or so…. I mean I can’t imagine that one unintentional pull on that thing would mean certain death if you are below a certain depth.

I mean, if an enemy diver can be killed with one pull on the inflation mechanism… it’s a very easy method.

Perhaps someone here can explain how these old inflatable vests worked and how “safe” they actually are. Seems like there were quite some potential risks with these vests.. at least regarding misuse.

IMDB lists 13 episodes, to my knowledge the show has 6 episodes!?!

Seemingly the show was televised with different long episodes/formats (my guess).

Female diver gets stuck in net! [Upgrade post, longer cut + better quality]

This is another classic that deserved an UPGRADE, and now it’s finally time!

We have a classic “female scuba diver gets trapped in net” scene 🙂

Preview:

And here is the video:

Initially, I planned on releasing a 10-minute long cut with subtitles. But for some reason, the subtitles didn’t show up in the final file.

So I decided to put up the shorter peril cut as the main video.

You will find the longer video below (without the subtitles).

But back to the scene:

A classic, cliche “frogwoman clumsily dives into a net with very little air left” scenario.

The breathing sounds are pretty loud and done quite well, I am pretty sure they recorded them afterward and included them in the movie.

A pretty sexy result…in my opinion.

She was initially diving with a guy (which you can see in the longer cut) and they both screwed it up in my opinion. He got on the boat again without waiting for her… and she just stopped and decided to go diving on her own. And for some reason she didn’t have a knife… which could have been quite useful here 😉

Even she most likely would have lost it in this cliche scenario… while trying to escape.

Her scuba gear is ok, but I rather hate these old inflatable vests as they totally obscure the … view…

Here is the much longer version of the scene with before and after surface shots (not on my public Youtube channel):

In case you don’t speak Dutch … he basically blames her and tells her all the mistakes she made underwater. Nothing of big interest.

In the mid of next week, I will make a post about a very unusual scuba fight from the same TV show.

Sadly without women… but a very interesting scuba fight nonetheless.

Frogwoman VS 5 male divers! [aka How to totally ruin a great setting]

A nice guy recommended me a movie:

“…. and it involves one female diver against 4 male divers. The female diver also surfaces and fights men on a boat.”

Well, for a moment I was really thrilled! A female diver fights against 4 male divers??? Or even 5 if I’m counting right… Sounds great, sounds awesome!

But then I thought…. well, why don’t I know that scene after 900 years of searching for such scenes? And I got a really bad feeling…. 😉

Here is a preview:

And here is the video from hell:

Well….. OH MY GOD!!! Or rather… WTF!!!

Ok, you have a frogwoman heroine and several evil divers…. and they actually do fight underwater…. and THIS is the result of the filming?

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!

I’m not sure if I should laugh my ass off or break down in tears…. or both.

A perfect example of how to totally ruin potential great scenes 🙁

Some folks (not me) are complaining that the scuba battles in Thunderball are too long and “slow” as the water slows down the action.

I also remember that the director of the Thunderball remake “Never say never again” was also no fan of underwater fights.

So, perhaps the director of this “movie” thought about how he could make these fights more intense and with more speed (in his opinion).

And his solution was seemingly to just increase the playback speed… of many action scenes (even on land).

Well, the result is laughably bad… in my opinion… and totally ruins these scenes.

The murky water is also a problem and they seemingly had no underwater lights at all…

In the end, I can’t enjoy these underwater fights at all and am really annoyed afterward.

The wetsuit of the frogwoman is uninteresting and very loose… I guess so the actress/stunt woman could do her martial arts moves. Quite a turn-off.

I’m 99% sure that these scenes were partially cut, as we don’t see the first two frogmen get hit by the spear, but well…. cut or not cut… all hope is lost here.

Oddly enough a german DVD of this “movie” is released in a few days for very little money, guess I will buy that one for the scuba collection as a perfect example on how to NOT do a scuba fight scene.

There are no more scuba scenes with her in this one.

A sexy female scuba assassin and her gorgeous target

Today I wanna present an ongoing picture storyline that is incredibly sexy!

Check out the pictures:

*EDIT* June 3: added 3 more pictures!

*EDIT* June 26: added 3 more pictures!

(click on the images to enlarge them to full size)

Well…. just …. WOW!

The scuba assassin is just incredibly sexy in her black rubber/latex(?) suit and FFM. Love the corrugated hoses 🙂

The gorgeous target is also smoking hot. As I have a thing for pantyhose/tights… it’s a great bonus that she is wearing tights!

The way they struggle on the yacht is already very…. stimulating… and the fact that the assassin is still breathing with her FFM is just great.

And it gets even better…

Love how the two struggle underwater as the assassin tries to drown her target.

It’s such a great aspect that the alleged victim is fighting back and starts to pull on one of the air hoses of the diver!

Perhaps she already pinches the hose and thereby the diver does get much less air than normal. 🙂

The combination of the sexy women, their great outfits, and the scuba peril is quite brilliant.

Can’t wait how this story will end!

If you check this blog frequently you might suspect what I wanna see next… 😉

I will update the gallery here once there are new pictures.

A guy on a boat gets attacked by two frogmen in rubber [Imagine if…][Blog exclusive]

Ok, let’s start with the bad news:

You won’t see any women in the video of this post.

So, why do I make a post about it?

I think this scene is a great “template” for a scuba fight with sexy female divers!

Check out the video, I’m very sure you will find it interesting….

I was browsing through some old footage that I had recorded a long time ago and stumbled on this scene.

And I managed to make a video file in good quality for you folks and myself.

Preview:

And here is the video:

Well, now imagine that these divers would wear the same outfits…but… would actually be sexy frogWOmen!

They try to drown him and he fights back, struggling with the sexy rubberwomen underwater… 😉

Or imagine Mannix to be a female detective… whatever you like best.

The scuba gear is near perfection for me here. The black rubber wetsuit in combination with hoods and double hose regulators were always my favorite since …a certain movie 😉

And it would be so awesome to have sexy, evil frogwomen in such a scuba fight!

Ok, back to the scene:

Well, these two really screw up big time! They are two against one. They have a complete set of scuba gear, he has nothing at all, but manages to win the fight.

I guess they wanted to make it look like he drowned, otherwise they could have used their knives…. or they underestimated him.

However, it’s not so easy to pull down a buoyant body down, even they are two.

But they fail to control him so he can temporarily “throw” one frogman out of the fight and is able to fight against one.

I love how he rips off the complete hose from the first stage. Hard to say how realistic that is…. but I think it is possible…perhaps.

And he actually rips it off the intake port, which is on the right side of the tank/first stage. Air is streaming out of it….

Then they actually cheat as suddenly the hose is ripped off from the left side of the tank/first stage. Obviously, the air is free-flowing and the diver is losing air, but with this trick, he still can breathe, so the stunt diver is quite safe.

Seemingly the diver in the scene then immediately drowns, which is quite odd as he isn’t out of air for long and Mannix was underwater longer without air. He is never seen again afterward.

The second diver then finally grabs his knife to kill Mannix, but well… he loses the struggle with Mannix and also his knife to him.

All in all, I really like this scene as it’s a great template if you have a little fantasy…. 😉

P.S.: The same two divers actually kidnap a woman from a boat and force a scuba tank on her earlier in the episode!

But….tragically…. that story gets only told….not shown on the screen! DAMN IT!

This is the Mannix episode in which it happened:

The frogwoman, a kangaroo and sharks!

Time to make a 2nd post with scenes from a 60s TV show with an animal as the lead “actor”.

Now, not that one with the dolphin, the one with the kangaroo.

In this one world-famous diver, Valerie Taylor can be seen in one out of only 3 acting roles (movie/TV shows).

Preview:

And here is the video:

Initially, I wanted to cut down the video as it is now half the length of the full episode.

But well, I wanted to include all her wetsuit scenes so I decided to choose the first long cut as the video. And Youtube seemingly doesn’t mind in this case.

Certainly some nice and interesting scenes with Valerie Taylor in a wetsuit for half an episode. 🙂

Well, I would have preferred a black rubber wetsuit, but no luck.

From today’s point of view, it is certainly quite ironic that Valerie Taylor who made many documentaries about sharks and was very unhappy in her involvement in the making of “Jaws” swims away in fear from a harmless shark….but well, times were different and most people were very afraid of any shark.

The peril element here is a nice addition if that means she is unconscious for the rest of the episode…which is quite odd. I mean why didn’t they show her awake at the end?

The young boy then saved her from drowning and then had some close scenes with Valerie Taylor in her tight, wet wetsuit on that boat…. I wouldn’t mind swapping with him 😉

Most likely he was too young back then to “appreciate” it.

IMDB says it was episode 18 of that season, other sources say it’s 19, but the title is certainly correct.

Crazy guy wanna drown 2 women! Incl. a fight with female scuba diver! — UPGRADE [incl. longer video + 2nd video]

I re-uploaded the video to this old post just some weeks ago:

https://frogwoman.org/mad-man-wanna-drown-2-women-with-a-female-scuba-diver

Shortly after I realized that there was a better video quality available (720×480) and I re-watched the movie yesterday.

So, I will make a BIG UPGRADE to the old post:

— better video quality and a longer cut of the scuba highlight of the movie

— a 2nd video just for the blog, not for my (public) Youtube channel

— a proper text for this interesting movie

Preview, main scene:

Here is the video:

This movie is quite interesting and has unusual dark humor.

Ok, let’s start with some negative aspects before we come to the good ones.

The underwater scene is scripted quite odd in some places.

The female diver, who is not a cop, but works as a movie prop master with the other blonde guy…. is the one here who puts herself in danger to save lives.

She cuts one woman loose and then gets attacked by the villain.

Meanwhile, the cop is above her and doesn’t help her. Yeah, he gives his regulator to the freed woman but doesn’t attack the villain.

But the “good” divers more or less ignore the other woman (red blouse) and she drowns because of that. They could have saved her (most likely) if they would have worked together.

But well, the movie itself ignores her at that point completely as well as she isn’t shown 😆

Two more (odd) things I noticed:

Surprisingly they incl. an underwater upskirt shot here as the producer sinks down with her skirt and pantyhose …. #odd #rare

If you look closely at the face of the freed woman in 2:57, you can see the marks of a scuba mask. Well, she wasn’t wearing one in the movie… but seemingly in the preparation of this shot.

I really like how the frogwoman here dives down quickly and decisively to save these women.

She manages to cut one loose and also ties the bad guy to the weight. Good job!

But what does she do next? She let the bad guy take her out of the action by letting him flood her mask and rip her regulator out!

How does that happen? She has all the advantages she can have. She has a wetsuit, a scuba mask, a scuba tank, and a knife!

He has nothing, can’t see much without a mask…. but manages to overpower her.

But then both are failing…. in a way.

He should have secured that regulator to be able to breathe…or at least try to do that. Her regulator was his one chance to survive here.

Ok, she was (seemingly) surprised by her flooded mask and regulator.

But she should have been able to put the regulator back in and clear her mask as soon she was away from him.

Ok, maybe she doesn’t have much experience and was shocked….but why does she stay on the surface then?

I don’t get why she stays there and doesn’t try to save the other woman….

However, it’s a really fine peril scene nonetheless!

A very rare setting with that insane guy and his drowning fetish.

In my version, he would attack scuba divers underwater and there would be some nice long scuba fights in the movie 😉

You now think that he actually drowned there very calmly?

Spoiler title
Well, at the end of the movie it gets revealed that he is actually still alive! Don’t have the slightest clue how the hell he did that as good guys stayed there for quite a while.

But I wanna share another scene from the movie.

In this earlier scene, he does make his first attempt to drown the female lead….

Preview, scene 2 (earlier in the movie):

Here is the video:

Good to have some more short scenes with our frogwoman in this one!

It’s quite odd that the bad guy drops his victim right on top of three scuba divers…

I mean, their boat must be close by and he should see and hear all those bubbles that they make.

But ok, maybe he was so blind (and deaf) as he was occupied with her….

The poor female lead is quite shocked by what she sees underwater….understandably.

The oldest corpse looks a little too “fake” and seemingly he killed all the others in a very short amount of time as they still look very “fresh”.

I like the plan as they try to fool him with that crafted corpse to get him on camera (as he visits them daily), even though that plan doesn’t work out and he can escape.

There are some more diving snippets with the villain but without any female divers.

There is actually a sequel to this movie.

I watched it very long ago and am 99,9% sure there are no female scuba scenes in that one, but I will check that.
