Wanted: Rescue diver for video shoot

Sadly, my rescue diver/cameraman can’t make it to the next video shoot on Sunday anymore, so I am forced to look for a new one.

I’m looking for someone:
– who is a rescue diver (or has a similar training)
– can give a short crash course on diving for folks who have no diving experience so far
– can help with the scuba gear
– who could operate a GoPro camera in some scenes (which is very easy)

The video shoot is this Sunday in Bremen (Germany) and is scheduled for 5 hours (10 AM-3 PM).
Payment is 25 Euro per hour.

I don’t think that the chances are very high of finding someone on this site, but it’s worth a try.
(I am looking on several sites).

The 2nd shooting of “Project F” – News #1

1st post for today, one more to follow!

First, some news about the 2nd shooting of Project F.

This week, I finally managed to solve the biggest issue: finding a proper location for future shootings!

I asked the managers of some public swimming pools, but the prices for one hour were……. BIG.

Of course, there would always be the possibility to shoot in a lake, but that comes with quite a lot of disadvantages (sight, comfort, and especially privacy etc.) even I still want to have a video shooting at such a location in the future.

 

The bad news first:

The shooting is still nearly 2 months away

 

The good news:

The location will have a really big pool, much bigger than the ones that are owned by private persons.

The pool will also be deep(er) (around 6 feet in total) than the one from the first shooting.

Fins can be used this time 😉

The lighting should be much better in that location (+ I bought UW lights in the meantime).

It is much less expensive than anything in comparison.

I secured a time window of 5 hours for that shooting. I guess 1 hour will be spent preparing the shooting at the location, quick instructions, and collecting all the gear upon departure.

That (hopefully) leaves around 4 hours for the shooting itself and I wanna make the most of it.

This time I certainly won’t leave the location to pick someone up like the last time 😉

The goal is to make 2 videos in that time. One rather simple one and one with an average complex script.

These videos should be around 5-10 minutes long each.

Depending on how it will go, I will need to be flexible and improvise here and there.

 

This time I wanna focus on underwater action/peril and also wanna show the frogwomen outside the water as well (beginning of the video).

With the experience of the last “casting”, I hope it will be much easier this time to find fitting frogwomen for this shoot.

 

Now that I found this location, the time between shooting won’t be as long in the future.

Well, if everything goes as planned at least.

Frogwoman Uma with Auer S3 gas mask and drysuit [10th video of Project F]

So, finally a new video from Project F, sorry for the delay. And this won’t be the only new video I will present today.

In this one, Frogwoman Uma is diving with an Auer S3 gas mask while wearing a Viking drysuit.

The filming for this video here was done by the friendly Divemaster.

When you see the screenshots you may suspect what I will buy first before the 2nd shooting 😉

Sadly the indoor lights weren’t sufficient, but that’s no news to you if you followed this project for a while.

But still, I think many will enjoy seeing a Frogwoman in a rubber drysuit and gas mask underwater…as this is rather….unusual 😉

 

Editing:

I used the same filters as before (white balance, 10% more brightness in the shadows, text).

The original/raw footage was longer than this cut, but I cut quite some stuff.

A very special one without any frogwomen for a change.

As you guys may know I rented that house for that first video shooting of “Project F”.

In the first hours, I wanted to try some gear that I never tried in a pool or lake before.

At first, I didn’t think about making a video out of it for sale as there are no frogwomen in this video.

Then I thought I would make a short video out of it for the VIP club, but since there are no frogwomen in this one… many might not be interested in it.

So, I made a longer video out of it that can be bought individually.

 

Yeah, I know not every piece of equipment would have been available to Angelo in 1965, but the regulator, the FFM, and the oxygen mask are all original vintage gear from the ’60s and ’70s.

In all scenes, Angelo is wearing a Mares Apnea Instinct wetsuit (smooth skin).

In the first segment, he is using a Royal Mistral double hose regulator.

In the second segment, he is using the Royal Mistral connected to a Technisub FFM.

In the last segment, he is using an RAF oxygen mask. The same type as in the movie. 😉

I was REALLY curious to see if the mask would work properly underwater connected to an oxygen tank. And yeah it did very well!

 

By the way: In the middle of the video I realized that my fins had damaged the foil that was attached to the pool walls and taken them off there.

And yeah, Angelo could lose 5-7 kilos more 😆

Also, Angelo had more hair in the movie 😉

 

So, perhaps some of you will find this interesting, even though there are no frogwomen in the video.

 

Note:

There is a slight audio issue in this video as I positioned the camera underwater on a plastic platform (counter-current system that wasn’t working at that time).

From time to time, you will hear some minor noise. Like very short “bumps”. No serious issue, but for that, I will reduce the price slightly.

The original/raw footage was about some minutes longer but contained some footage where we discussed some aspects in between the shots.

In this one, Frogwoman Uma is diving with a Mares Abyss regulator while wearing a Camaro Speedskin.

Both the divemaster and Uma were filming here. I wasn’t at that filming as I was actually at a train station to pick up Frogwoman Kara (video 3), and due to the storm that train got delayed big time….as I mentioned here and there.

Today I wanna present a short trailer with scenes from the first 5 videos of “Project F”.

So, you can actually see some moving images and sound from these videos, instead of just some screenshots.

At first, I thought about including some music in the trailer but then you couldn’t hear the actual underwater sound not as good.

My next idea was to make an alternative trailer version with some music from Thunderball, but I wasn’t satisfied with how the music would fit the scenes, so I discarded that idea…..at least for now. Perhaps I will make an alternative version of the trailer in the future.

Avon S10 gas mask dive with Frogwoman Uma [6th video of Project F]

Today I wanna present another video of Project F!

In this one, Frogwoman Uma is diving with an Avon S10 gas mask!

The nice divemaster who can be seen in video 3 is the one who is filming her, I wasn’t even in the pool room at that time as it was very late and I was pretty exhausted from the day and all the preparation beforehand.

As you can see it’s the first time in a Project F video that the camera is above the water, even if it was only for a brief scene, but you can hear Frogwoman Uma breathing above the surface.

This gas mask was provided by the divemaster who is also a friend of hers, he also did the filming here.

The Viking drysuit should be really great for fans of heavy gear. The suit here was also provided by the divemaster. It’s pretty wide for her, even Frogwoman Uma is very tall.

But I think she looks really good in it!

At the very end, there is also an unintended “action” scene as the attached regulator wasn’t working at the end as it should have 😉

The first minute of the video is pretty dark, but don’t worry, the rest is better like in the screenshots above.
