So, it’s time for a new “Project F” video!

This is video 25 and the first from the 4th video shoot…. and the longest one in the VIP club yet!

In this video, Frogwomen Lucy and Kara are training their scuba combat skills so they are always ready for a mission.

Well… it’s a training scenario. They “just” force each other to the surface.

Background info:

I really like to make these videos of the “Scuba Combat Training” series. They are easy to do, and you can quickly film them.

Also, I only provide some basics of what to do (like going for masks/regulators) ….and the rest is totally up to the frogwomen.

So, it’s always a surprise to me as well what will happen in the end 🙂

This time the two frogwomen came up with the idea that they could start with a sort of “lurking” phase where they would swim around and then would attack each other at the right moment.

I like the idea as it builds up some suspense, and the video gets a little longer as well…

Frogwoman Lucy was wearing the new silver-grey Elios vintage style beavertail wetsuit that I got some weeks ago, and a new white Aqualung mask that I got for a really low price by chance.

It looks really good in my opinion and will surely be used in the future as well.

Both were wearing Omer smooth-skin neoprene socks that looked much better than the usual ones. And they are also more comfortable in the fins as they are thicker.

Frogwoman Kara was wearing the Orca Openwater suit and a new Seac mask with a wider viewing field.

 

As I mentioned in the past, both have only the scuba experience that they got from the video shoots.

But they both are really comfortable with the gear now, and the fact that the two are friends in real life is a big advantage as well.

 

It’s not always easy to be in the right spot with the camera, as I can only guess how they will move around in all directions.

Once in this video, I was in an unfortunate position in the end… but well… it’s always a bit of luck involved, and most of the time I think it worked out fine.

Glad that we had some sunshine here as the sun showed up during the filming.

So, it’s time for the seventh video of the 3rd video shoot of “Project F”, the last one from that video shoot.

In this video, Agent Kara is taking pictures of a secret underwater base of Spectre (#some imagination required) and gets attacked by an evil frogwoman…

….and only ONE of them will survive!

Background info:

This one is a good example of how much I want and do not want to show here. I mentioned above that only one of them would survive the fight.

It would certainly be good for promo reasons to include a picture of the ending here.

But at the same time, I don’t want to fully spoil it by showing that… as you then would know who will win the fight.

So, I chose the middle way… maybe I will use a picture of the ending in a week or two, but not now.

This video was more difficult to make than the previous ones. We had a script and reshoot some scenes, especially the final one.

That also made the editing more complicated in comparison as well…. for some scenes.

In the end, I’m happy with the result! I made some notes on things that can be improved in the future.

The GoPro I use for filming is doing a good job… but it has one aspect that can be problematic:

As the camera is tiny… the screen is tiny as well, and that makes it pretty hard to see all the details, especially while filming underwater.

Kara and Demi did a fine job, especially considering how little scuba experience they have/had and that this scenario was quite challenging.

As a BONUS for you guys, I decided to also include a BONUS version with a lot of awesome music from Thunderball!

I hope you folks like that version as well and appreciate the effort, if not… just watch the “normal” version 😉

Now a minor spoiler, so don’t continue unless you have seen the video!

In the end scene, the regulator wasn’t supposed to exhaust bubbles, even as we repeated the scene several times, it always did… so just ignore these bubbles 😉

We could have closed the valve for the scene… but that was a little too risky as both had very little scuba experience.

Background info:

Alice is actually an experienced freediver so she can swim underwater for quite a while, and that is what you can see in the video as she swims the full length of the pool back and forth!

And she still had some reserves left. Quite impressive if you ask me.

Also, she is really fast with these long freediver fins!

Of course, the time for one take here during a scuba fight is quite limited when one woman doesn’t have a scuba tank.

This was a quick video with only a very basic script, but it turned up pretty good in my opinion.

As Caity is an experienced diver, she didn’t have any problems with

her mask getting flooded during the fight. Next time, the mask should be fully yanked off the head.

My initial plan was that Alice would

steal the regulator/Octopus of Caity at some point. But we weren’t 100% sure that a freediver could/should start breathing air from a tank, even at this low depth. I will have to do some research on that matter.

The new Subea wetsuit that Alice is wearing looks great on her and was a great bargain for just 60 Euros.

Right now, the price is nearly twice as much in the shop where I bought it back then.

In the future, I might revisit this scenario to make a longer video with different outcomes.

Normally I post on Sundays, but as February is pretty short, I wanna give you a longer time period to get the video in the VIP club (until Tuesday, February 28).

 

In this video, Frogwomen Kara and Demi are doing some very basic scuba exercises to learn scuba diving.

Well, it’s a training scenario….

Background info:

This is the only video from this video shoot that doesn’t have any scuba peril elements.

I only made one cut here as there is a scene in the middle where Sascha is demonstrating how to clear a mask…. so there is no “action” from the two for a while.

Kara has now appeared on all 3 video shoots I have had so far, she has only scuba experience from these shoots, so I teamed her up with newcomer Demi, who had no prior scuba experience at all.

Kara is wearing an Aqualung Bali wetsuit and is equipped with a Mares Abyss regulator.

Demi is wearing an Orca Openwater Core wetsuit and is equipped with a Scubapro MK 17 regulator.

This video was basically not scripted at all as I simply filmed how the two received a scuba crash course with the most important scuba exercises.

Sascha did a great job as the instructor and agreed to appear in the video as well.

Both frogwomen did a fine job as well, especially the flooded mask is a tricky exercise for some scuba newbies.

Finally, these wetsuits were used for the first time. Initially, the planning was that Kara would be wearing the Orca suit, but this way both suits fitted them better.

If I film such a scuba crash course next time, I wanna include some close-ups as well, perhaps just using the (limited) zoom function of the camera or changing the camera position.

There are 4 rounds in this video, and they swap the FFMs after the second round.

Caity starts with the modern OTS Guardian, and Alice with the vintage Technisub mask.

Well, it’s a training scenario….

 

Background info:

This scuba combat training scenario is a good scenario to film in between the more complicated ones.

The two only got very few instructions, so it didn’t take long to film this, which leaves more time for other scenarios.

Both Frogwomen here are experienced divers with over 50 dives (Caity) and over 120 dives (Alice), so this is the video with the most experienced divers so far in this Project.

For Caity, it was her first video shoot, and for Alice her second with Project F, as she was in the very first one as well.

As you may know, I’m a big fan of the Technisub FFM, and it’s the first time it was used in a scuba fight video (in this Project).

Both frogwomen mentioned that it is rather hard to breathe in it, especially in comparison to the OTS Guardian.

Well, I wasn’t surprised, as the Technisub mask is around 60 years old…. the modern OTS Guardian has far more comfort to offer.

The OTS Guardian was used for the first time here, as I bought it some weeks ago. A rather big investment (even if I bought a used one), but I think the mask looks great 🙂

The Elios suit is one of my favorites, but I really like the Cressi Free Lady suit as well… the black/silver-grey combo looks awesome in my opinion.

I was lucky to get one for a reasonable price, even if it is size S. Now I found the right frogwoman for it, Caity fits into it perfectly.

One “problem” with these FFMs is that they limit the possibilities in a scuba fight. It’s not possible to just yank them off easily like a normal scuba mask or a regulator.

Both are strapped tightly on the face and to pull such a mask off an opponent is rather complicated… maybe we will try that in the future.

The way Alice defeated Caity in round 2 was fully improvised by Alice. It was a fun idea, rather unconventional 😆

The OTS Guardian has a valve to breathe “fresh” air when you are on the surface… we will need to test that feature the next time underwater when an enemy diver opens it 😉

For the first time, frogwomen are wearing gloves in a Project F video.

A frogwoman in distress needs to be saved! [Blog exclusive]

One last post in 2022!

A nice guy recommended me this one. I know this movie for quite a long time now and was very surprised that I haven’t posted about it.

Well, maybe I did ages ago and Youtube blocked the video… don’t know.

This movie is an Italian James Bond knock-off and it has quite some interesting scuba scenes incl. a nice frogmen fight.

But let’s focus on the frogwoman in danger.

She has been captured by the bad guys and the villain has some evil… and weird… plans for her!

What a naughty, weird villain 😉

She looks stunning in that gorgeous vintage beavertail wetsuit!

And his ideas to torture her are quite…. creative… (and insane).

She is really lucky that he showed up to save her from her… explosive… fate.

Also, in reality, her eardrums would burst as she can’t make the ear clearing with her hands tied up… unless she is one of those who can make it by just moving the jar around a little.

The submarine that he uses is really a cool vehicle, don’t remember seeing that one in any other movie.

In my version, she would have been in some nice scuba fights with the henchmen and henchwomen of the villain 😉

Background info:

I think these extra scenes are interesting as they include some extra peril footage and as they are quite funny.

In the middle part (from 01:23 to 02:08) Lucy struggled with her arch-enemy: The sheath of her scuba knife! 😉

At first, we had strapped it to her upper arm in the hope it would look “cooler”, but it was very difficult to adjust it right, and we were in a hurry.

Also, the mechanism that holds the knife in place on that sheath is a little tricky…

The other bonus material can be found around 02:30 as Lucy tries to cut the air hose… which is not as easy as it looks in the movies 😉

She pulled hard on Kara’s air hose so Kara lost the regulator for some seconds, interesting images… but I also wouldn’t include scenes like that in the “normal” cut of a video as that wasn’t supposed to happen and makes not much sense to let her retrieve it.

I don’t think I will make such an XL cut again in the future. But I might post such extra material in bonus videos.

Background info:

This is the second video with the “scuba spy” scenario (the first one is video 12).

In this version, Frogwoman Kara is holding onto her Camera with the precious images she just shot. Of course, that is a rather big handicap for her as she can only use one arm/hand to defend herself against the attacker.

I guess in a long, scripted version of this scenario, she should have some kind of bag/pocket to stash it away, or at least have it tied to her wrist with a tiny rope.

Or she could just let it float to the bottom, for that the camera would need some weights, as it floats to the surface… as you can see in video 12.

Frogwoman Lucy really seems to enjoy yanking at other divers’ regulators 😉

A frogwoman in a black vintage style Elios wetsuit and Technisub FFM – [Post 2][Reco]
