I’ve got some bad news… 🙁
After taking my camera and light to the lake on Monday and checking out the actual visibility these days… I decided to cancel the video shoot that was planned for Saturday for several reasons:
The visibility was just around 1-2 meters, which is not enough. I mean, as I said, the one BIG advantage was supposed to be the natural setting. (The visibility was much better at my last visit)
But if you just see a meter of green water behind the diver(s) (at best)… it sucks… and that advantage is totally gone (underwater).
Which also would be a safety issue as the safety diver, who is behind me… should be able to see the participants at all time.
All the disadvantages of such a lake video shoot are there as well. (see my older post)
The weather forecast for Saturday (and Sunday) is also quite bad (for a video shoot) with just 1 hour of sunshine.
Also, I do have some health issues at the moment that need to be solved (nothing big).
I was and am very curious to do such a video shoot in a lake… but well, my timing sucked.
I knew that the visibility wasn’t really good around this time of year… but I didn’t think it would be that bad.
Perhaps I should do a video shoot at another lake like lake Hemmoor, which is famous for its insane visibility of 30 meters or more.
Also, there are actually some great items in it, like a sunken ship, a sunken plane, a truck etc.
But that lake would bring 2 problems: It’s very deep, and the deeper you go, the colder it gets. And all the really sexy suits in my collection are quite thin….
I bought some “thicker” ones with 5mm, but even that would be problematic for most people.
Also, the lake can be very crowded with dive parties. That makes the filming of (simulated) peril/fight situations …dangerous.
It would be horrible if someone thought such a simulated fight would be real, and then we all would be in some BIG trouble…. especially me.
A video shoot during the week would be great (fewer divers), but then I would need to find some women who would be available then….
Perhaps a video shoot “just” with sexy wetsuits in an awesome lake like Hemmoor would be “enough” for you? (if it is too crowded there to do fights)
Or would you prefer videos with fight scenes …but in a normal lake?

I always said that there would be 0 or 1 new videos this month and the next ones.
So, there will be 0 new videos in the next months.
I’m not happy about that, and I’m sorry for this disappointment.
I do hope you guys understand.
I will make some adjustments for the next months.

I contacted the folks who manage the deep water pool about a video shoot early next year (February/March), I should have a new date there soon.
Hopefully, a lake video shoot around 3 months after that.
And then a video shoot in the pool later in the year (September/October).
