As you can see there isn’t even an episode guide for this show. Sadly this remake of the classic Sea Hunt show is only available in VHS quality as it was never released on DVD.

Time for some vintage scuba action from a rather rare TV show!
This scene is 60 years old and one of the very early scenes with scuba action in it.
Story: The hero is blackmailed by an evil guy to retrieve some nazi treasure from a sunken ship. The villain doesn’t trust the good guy of course and sends a frogwoman(!) down with him.

Well, this scene offers a LOT! But it also has two major problems….
Let’s start with the good aspects. In 1960 it was still pretty unusual for women to dive, and especially to have/film a scuba fight like that. She looks great in the vintage rubber wetsuit!
I like the sneaky movie from the villain to drop the speargun down to her, even that plan failed as she couldn’t catch it. The close combat between them is well done and I love the idea of him tying her up underwater so he could handle the bad guy on the surface one on one.
And…of course….she looks even better as she surfaces and is still wet in that great outfit 🙂

Now the two big problems I have with that scene:
a) It is filmed in black and white! Ok, even in 1960 that was still rather a normal procedure. But the whole scene would look sooooo much better/sexier in color!
and
b) the frogwoman turns into a frogMAN underwater! Back in the day, it was (sadly) a rather normal thing that a man would double a woman in an action scene as there were nearly no stuntwomen to do that. However, it is really horrible when that happens!
And here it is verrrry obvious as the evil diver has suddenly no more breasts, and his legs and arms are way too pumped in comparison to the woman on the boat.

Damn, I would love to see a remake of this scene! In color and with a frogWOman underwater.
And then a really long struggle before he manages to defeat her and ties her up underwater.

Well, I must admit, for me, the clip is somehow nice, but nothing special, but I guess it’s a good video for some of the wetsuit folks out there who like to see a woman in action while wearing a wetsuit. Sadly there are no underwater scenes with her at all, otherwise, they would have been in the video ;-).
The change from wetsuit to her “normal” clothes is hilarious. Interesting to see what she was supposed to wear under her wetsuit. Even cowboy boots. And it takes a “little” longer to get out of such a wetsuit 😆
I do like her trick to seduce the guys by slowly opening her wetsuit zipper. What a nice distraction 😉

Not, I don’t mean the movie Orca and the fantastic frogwoman scene in it. But this one is interesting as well.
And thanks to a certain user for reminding me of this scene by sending me the video!
Story:
Some folks are afraid of a killer while at their shore and want to hunt him/her down. But one woman is determined to prove that the orca is harmless.
And how can she do that? Well, you will see….

Not exactly a video for the scuba folks among us (that’s why I haven’t uploaded it earlier), ……but if you are into vintage rubber wetsuits (like many of us)….it is interesting 😉
Ok, I would have preferred her to wear an all-black wetsuit with the fitting jacket to her sexy wetsuit pants, but she does look great in that weird combination as well!
The Orca seemed to enjoy the time with his rubber friends…

It offers an extremely rare ending, but more on that later…
Story: A couple invites another couple on a vacation to their beach house. Things between them are getting …”complicated” and the two team up against the other woman.

Well, isn’t that a great find for lovers of scuba peril/action?
But let’s start with the negative aspects first.
The sound of the bubbles sounds like bad effects to me.
She drowns way too fast, even she is exhausted after the struggle, she shouldn’t drown in a matter of seconds.
I skipped through the movie (Spanish language only) and it has some weird moments (like the ending on the beach). Overly dramatic music and effects.

Some weird things/errors I found:
The air hose (of the victim) seems to be leaking a bit (right at the 1st stage) during the fight!
Both the evil attackers wore black wetsuits, while she is wearing a colorful wetsuit. That underlines who are the bad guys here.
They rip off her tank….then a close-up of her…the tank is still there! (editing/continuity mistake)
Of course, she is wearing a weight belt, but it is gone (for no reason) as she ends up on the beach. (continuity mistake)

And now to the positive aspects, and there are a lot!
Scuba fights with women are pretty rare (and here we have even 2 involved)! An air hose cut in such a fight scene is even rarer!! And …air hose cut (by an attacker) in such a fight…leading to the death of a frogwoman ….is EXTREMELY rare!!! As a matter of fact, I only know one more scene where that happens.
I love how she really fights against these two. She is focused on not losing her regulator, shielding it with one hand for most of the time, and she fights them off for quite a while!
Well, this little gem has quite a lot to offer! Not only that the filmmakers stole a LOT of music from the Bond movies 😀 (unbelievably that that worked out)…. it has a frogwoman that gets chased on land and underwater! Can she escape the bad guys?

Well….that was…odd! We have incompetent henchmen in the plane (who can’t hit her) and more incompetent henchmen underwater, who can’t hit her with spearguns …or catch up with her.
But if they are not able to kill her….she nearly does it herself 😆
But creative….to escape a plan she packs out her scuba gear. And what happens to the frogmen who are not in the sub? Really odd.
However the chase is pretty cool, something you don’t get to see that often. And the footage where she is unconscious underwater due to the explosion….great scuba peril!
